I’ve been on a decluttering journey for about three years now. I’m not concerned how much stuff I have, I just don’t want anything in my home that is not currently being used. Ps I’m sure people from the uk are watching this with 😍 beautiful x

I don’t know if you’re a minimalist, but I’m certain that you’re a very skilled, very tidy domestic queen. I think it’s sad that so many people are struggling with clutter, excess, and decision dysfunction so badly nowadays, such that keeping a normal, tidy, beautiful home now counts as minimalism. Your home is the gold standard of reasonable, manageable family living.

I store my flour in plastic containers (Tupperware), and I label the expiration date on my flours so that I keep the freshest product.

Love to see a minimalist with several glasses, mugs and other items in the cabinets. Made me feel better 😂😂😂 I don't call myself a minimalist but I've decluttered thousands of items however my kitchen cabinets are still kind of full 😅 we have 3 fridges and a chest freezer. Can never have too much food!!!!!

I, for one, appreciate that minimalists are real people! All of our cupboards are full and I have started to put a little more decor out. Like my daughter told me, “you live here”. Thoroughly enjoyed your tour - especially because your house is so realistic-minimalist. It also satisfied that urge I get every now and again to be nosy! I find that living with others makes the minimalist thing an act of careful navigation - My son adores coin collections and plants and no, his hobbies can definitely run counter to any minimalist ideals I may be striving for. Cats (and in my case, dogs) also help keep things real - or messy - but I would never be without pets in the home.

I rescued a baby squirrel (Bea) who had cerebellar hyperplasia also. Had her for 8+ years. Love your cat 😻😻

We store our pet food in the basement in a metal trash can (in the bag) with the lid on it! Works great! Then we have bins up stairs in the cabinet.

Yes your minimalism looks like mine! With teens it’s impossible not to have stuff. But it’s mostly contained in their rooms thank goodness! I’m still amazed that I can still find more stuff to declutter each time I try though. I like your channel and look forward to more videos 😊

I have a whole bottom cupboard shelf full of coffee mugs too. I LOVE coffee mugs, certain styles and designs and while I'm not like this with anything else. I really enjoy matching my mug to my clothes that morning. LOL I don't know when I even started doing that but I have a couple neutral mugs, then special mugs from trips and a couple gifted. I think my husband has 4 and I have 6 mugs. We have travel ones too. I have 1 and he has 2. :) I love how real your house is but still being quite minimal and un cluttered. Although your tea cupboard would make me mad trying to get stuff out of there. LOL I have a medicine/supplement/vitmain cupboard that is like that and things fall over and I threaten to chuck it all at least once a day. LOL

We have 2 freezers. We buy beef by the half cow, so it's worth it to have 2 freezers. 3 adult kids still at home so when I see a deal on chicken or something else that can go in the freezer, I buy extra.♥️🇨🇦

Minimalism is an individual thing. You have what you need and use for your family size. I live alone so I don't need as much as you do. I have given away my toaster oven, microwave and crock pot because I wasn't using them. My neighbors were very happy. Don't worry about the minimal police and their narrow minded opinions. Do you and be happy. Your home is lovely, by the way.

I never called myself a minimalist person but after seeing your home I have so much less. I have no plastic in my home other than a hairbrush and some toiletries. Most of my pantry items are in glass.

For you bedroom window, you can buy a curtain cord cleat for a few dollars at the hardware store. You just attach it to the inside frame of the window and then wrap your cord around it when you want it up.
