Xavier A I have not had a problem. I have not put in a mesh yet and have 2 wifi signals and I discovered I had put the light on a different network than the HomePod after fixing that I have had no problems. Use it all the time as I’m waking up stairs I call to Siri and Yeelight is on when I walk-in the room. It works with my night shut down Siri short cut.

Good review Shane. That night mode is pretty sweet. I do find that most lights at the lowest setting is still yo bright so it’s cool they came up with this cool feature.

Thanks Eric! Yea it’s a great feature. That Xiaomi/Yeelight bedside lamp 2 has the same feature and I’ve been using it in my bedroom at night. Very useful!

I like the way the lamp looks and it’s functionality. If only our apartment was more modern in design....but, definitely something to keep in mind if we ever get the chance to have a home office! Thanks again for sharing!

Looks pretty cool Shane. Your reviews are always on point. Seems like a good (albeit a bit small looking once I saw you hold it up) bedside solution. I was a little surprised that there was not an option to illuminate just the upper light ring by itself. With all of the features you went thru, I sorta expected that to be an option. Thanks for the upload. Good stuff as usual.

Thank you! It would be cool to light the ring separately, but that would require a second light source I believe. Technically that ring is just a back light that lets the light shine through. That night mode is really cool tho to use as a night light.

$179.95 for an Australia version. Sold out in Australia since you dropped. I currently use eve power outlet for bedside lights. Was impressed with nightlight feature.

Oh wow. Yea smart outlets or even smart bulbs in lamps are other great options for easy, smart bedside lights. I also have a regular floor lamp in my bedroom with a smart color bulb in it.

Shane Whatley there’re great and affordable, about $30/piece on amazon for the color ones and work with HomeKit. They are physically bigger than most led bulbs so they can’t fit in all spaces led bulbs can when enclosed. You’d like them!

Thanks! If money isn’t much of a factor, I’d go with the Yeelight. It’s seems to be built a little better, has color temperature control in HomeKit (unlike the Santala), and seems to maintain a more stable connection to HomeKit. The biggest selling point of the Santala is definitely the price. And I do like the looks of it but that’s just opinion. Can’t find much negative stuff to say about the Yeelight lamp.

Can I use the lamp directly in HomeKit by scanning the barcode and adding accessory in the Home app without using the Yeelight app?

You should be able to but then you won’t get access to firmware updates or any of the additional features in the Yeelight app, such as the night mode, etc.

Thanks for the great review! That's why I bought the lamp. Beautiful design! BUT installation is drama. The lamp constantly loses connection to WiFi. Unfortunately it is not good to use !! (see also reports reddit and yeelight forum!) A solution is not yet offered by Yeelight

Henk Daalhuizen I’m sorry to hear that. I have had zero problems with mine. It connected to homekit without issue and hasn’t lost it’s wifi connection since.

HI Shane thx for reply. I'll get it in homekit. Only after a few hours no response. I can see it in my network (unifi). Only no more ip? What security do you have on wpa2? and only 2.4 or a combined 2.4 / 5 connection. I'm trying to figure out why

thanks for the review shane. i kinda remember asking you if u could do a review for this and u delivered! quick question about the wireless charger... does it work well with airpods? coz it seems like most wireless chargers work as expected with the iphones, but become finicky when it comes to airpods. it’s like a hit or miss when choosing a wireless charger to use with airpods. i think i also read a review somewhere (could be homekitnews.com) that the airpods didn’t charge with this lamp. could u confirm it?

Hard to tell. I don't have the wireless AirPods to test. I do however have some older AirPods that have the little qi charging adapter case that allows for wireless charging. I threw those on the charging mat to try. After a minute or two the LED status light does give me an error or "foreign object" detected status and they don't seem to charge as expected. Not sure if the real wireless AirPods case would be any different or not.

Robert Coletti yes I received this from banggood for review. I don’t have any issues or concerns with buying from them. Haven’t heard anything bad, just research and understand what you are buying when using any of these international sites. Only downside is often the shipping may take a bit longer than you are used to.
