In today's video, we do a long overdue minimalist makeup declutter video ! I love doing these videos and declutters in general because it's such a nice way to feel calm and organized with the items that we have. It's such a good way to re-evaluate our items and decide whether we still need them or not. It is so easy to forget about things and then they end up staying in our lives when they aren't of any use anymore and are needing to be rehomed.
I have been on this minimalist makeup declutter journey for a while now and I really enjoy the slow decline in the size of the collection that I have. With the goal of ending up with just a makeup basket of things that I love and trust. We are definitely still not there yet but I am really happy with all the products that I ended up with at the end of the video.

I watch many collection/declutter videos but I love to hear what minimalists think about each product, because it has a purpose and was thoughtfully chosen and kept. So much of makeup is aspirational and for your fantasy self, but I love that minimalist makeup people have embraced their real selves and what they will actually use every day, to free their time and money for other things.

For me, the goal of a declutter is not to throw away 90% of my makeup, it's to keep what you love and use. The final outcome depends on what you are comfortable with and enjoy, be it 2, 10 or 30 of some categories.

I like that you didn't declutter just for numbers sake. It's less wasteful to keep and use what you love vs. just getting rid of it to get rid of it. You did great!

Oils tend to separate but that doesnt mean they are 'expired'. Its the colour change/the changes in smell (in heavy chemicals scent) that will tell you if you need to throw out the polish. Mascara (3months), skincare (keep up to 1 year max), 'cream/liquid' makeup (keep up to 2yrs max) and any other makeup if i can disinfect them (keep up to 15 yrs provided i cleam them regularly, i dont share makeup and only apply with clean/washed tools at every usage).

I love these videos! I think that you got rid of exactly what you needed to: things that don’t work for you and things that are empty. You have a really nice collection of Hourglass products now! Your friend is really generous!

Yeah it wasn't much, but it's what I needed (or not so much needed :D) Oh they are, I'm very grateful for them, knowing people who work for such brands is so nice hehe

I have a small box for sentimental items. I have moved a few pieces I got as gifts there after I knew I wouldn’t use it but that’s why sentimental boxes are so great.

it all depends on the product. Most products go to friends and family and then any product that can be sanitised and safely donated I do that.

that is a very good point, but even with all the thinking in the world, if your trying out a new product, theres always a chance it might not work for you and its best to declutter and give it a new home rather than let it waste :)

But i bet u dont purchase any red lipstick now As u said u r not drawn to those shades Wat i meant is wat if one day u wanna do a red lip but bcz u decluttered all the reds u might end up buying one and in the next vid we might see u decluttering it Decluttering is a process that should happen once a year Not many times i feel
