Don't mind the minimalism police, I think you did a great job. I wish I watched your video before my last trip, I totally messed up estimating the weather and ended up wearing the same two outfits almost the entire trip. Personally, I love my packing cubes though.
Travel videos are some of my favorites! Thanks for these great tips. I prefer packing cubes; however, my husband prefers not using them. Tank tops and leggings are my favorite layering items, which also serve as lounging and pajamas. 😁
Very nicely done, also easy to see how one could change it up based on their needs and style. I could do this easily, idk if my mom could 😂 I’ve seen her pack twice as much or more for half as long.
Great video...thank you. Can I ask what the weight of your bag was, please? As I understand the weight of a carry on is as important as the size with many airlines. In Australia and Europe the maximum is often 7kg. My apologies if you have answered in the comments previously.
I’m currently working out how I’m going to efficiently pack for a two week trip with a carry-on, so this is a helpful video! I had one question though. Why did you choose to put your liquids bag and electronics in your suitcase and not your backpack? That seems stressful to have to open your suitcase to pull them out for security when they could be more accessible in your backpack. Thank you for listening to my curiosity! :)
2 thoughts: How to make that works for bigger people (aka bigger clothes) And add Ziploc bags to encase everything to protect from bed bugs. I got them recently and it took so much out of me for a month while dealing those elusive, pesky vampires.
Amazing you can do this! I’m heading to Spain for a month and will be staying with family. I can’t do a carry on because I also take gifts for the family and I shop so I’ll have checked baggage and a backpack, but kudos to you if this works for you.
This video is so helpful! What are the measurements of the suitcase? I've been looking at cabin suitcases and want to make sure I get the right size. Thanks.
Awesome video Ashlynne 😊 very informative, you always give great advice and tips in your videos. I always look forward to seeing your videos every week. I hope you had an amazing time in Greece and that you made lots of great memories ❤️👍❤️
Your videos have helped inspired me to learn more about minimalism wardrobe and I'm praying I can go on my first overseas trip w hubby for our 3 Ur married anniversary in 2022.im praying to go to Mexico or Hawaii. I'm also proud of myself for packing so lightly in a little bag for a few days and for the small changed and habits I'm doing in my daily life. God bless and thanks for the great vids 👍
I almost always fly with carryon only but this inspired me to pack much neater! I am also definitely an overpacker so maybe if i plan out my capsule like you did last video I can cut down on the t-shirts im tempted to add
I spent 33 days over seas and I definitely packed too much. I don’t even own a suitcase anymore. I have a backpack that is more camping style as I have downsized so much it’s my overnight bag.
May I ask how much your suitcase weighed? I love the idea of only using a carry-on bag, but some airlines have a 7kg max weight limit and, for longer trips, I struggle to get the weight below that…😢
During my last trip I found that putting the "liquids bag" and anything electronic inside my backpack made things extremely easy and fast during the airport security checks, because I didn't open my suitcase at all! Once I got to the gate I then switched places putting all the unnecessary (for the flight) things in the suitcase and keeping just the essentials in the backpack!
That’s awesome. However there are (at least 1 airline that I know of) that only allow one bag into the cabin. Internationally. So maybe you can put the electronic and the liquid bag in the same compartment in one bag. 👍
@@ftwi1 Quite a few do this I've found, especially since Covid for whatever reason. SAS, for example, restricts you to one item in the cabin on their economy(SAS Go) tickets. Some US airlines do this too.
Your packing was very aesthetically-pleasing. :) I normally roll my clothes, but I'm going to try your cubed method. I also keep my toiletries in my backpack so it's much easier to take out for security (rather than having to open my suitcase). I love traveling with checking a bag. It saves time and money. I hope you enjoyed your trip!
For us, the packing cubes has been the best. A real blessing..... easy to keep our clothes, electronics and other stuff well organized on the suitcases.
Was it 7kg totally for carry on? My carry on weight 3.1kg already by itself. I just have 4kg left. I don’t know anyone will weight their carry on at check in??? Because I see this video and guarantee it’s over 10kg
2:38 If you want to put your shoes in bags without buying more things, I like to use plastic grocery bags. I normally put 2 around them so when one gets dirty I can remove it, throw it away, and use the 2nd one!
So cool to see a 1 month worth of everything you take! I'm getting married in 3 months in India and I'll be staying there 1 month, so seeing this gives me relief I won't miss much 😂 but I don't uleven use that many hair products for example, so maybe I'll have it even easier 🥺🥺
You make it seem so easy!! I usually need a little more space when I pack...I guess I have the wrong suitcase!! Thank you for all the tips and I hope you had a marvelous time here in Greece🇬🇷I hope I can visit some day Italy🇮🇹The videos of Florence especially were amazing!!I wish you all the trips you have imagined♥️🌷🌼🥰🌍🌎🌏
this is awesome! my mom does this too, she’ll plan out her outfits with different clothing combinations and only carries one carry on with her as well :) i love how clearly everything is laid out in your suitcase. oftentimes i’ll pack but then i can’t find anything so i’ll have to rummage through and then everything is a mess!
Hi lovely Ashlynne, I wanted to say you, first have a good trip :) enjoy :) and I wanted to say you a huge thank you for all the many times I watched your videos without writing a comment as I was not yet on youtube :) you have been part for a lot on my decluttering journey and inspirations. I watch a bit less videos these days (not because of your great content that I catch up as soon as I can ;) still inspiring, I have just less time these days :) working on new projects, thanks to have space and time for it, thanks decluttering, it is in fact amazing, thank you for the inspiration along the process so ;). You accompanied me a lot during the quarantine periods and on my personal journey. I wanted to send you a huge thank you for it. And awesome, I discover your travel plan ;) I lived in Italy during many years. I am from France where I am actually ;) (sorry for my mistakes in English, I hope i can express the message of gratitude I wanted to send you, sincerely :) I wish you all the best, and thank you for inspiring positives vibes 😊✨💕 welcome to Europe and I dream to visit Canada ;) and US when I could ;)
Thanks so much! I'm going to Colorado in 3 months ALONE and I'm only 13. This will be my first time ever flying and I'm kinda scared of planes. So this really helped!
You packed your carry-on like a pro. I'm going to Ireland in April and I don't want to over pack, but I also want to have enough with me for the 10 days I'm there. Any tips are appreciated.
It's slightly inconvenient but for maximum efficiency space-wise (because I like to wear big punk boots) you can stuff your socks and underwear in them. It saves so much space. I like the fold you do for your clothes, I do it the same way ^-^
Thanks a lot. Make sure NOT to pack your chapstick or edible items in the same pouch where you put money/credit card/passport, these items are polluted being in hands of so many people (money), or being touched by a hand of someone who checks IDs and passports of so many people. Use wax or nylon sacs (or even paper wraps) instead of cotton ones for items like shoes as fabric pores are wide enough to penetrate microbes, and unpack them as soon as you get to the destination. Haha just a few tips from a biologist.
Packing is Always a Puzzle, Take it from someone who's Moved every year to 3 Months. What's it like Growing up in a House You've known all of your life? Seriously I want to know. I remember every place I lived since I was 2, and know where I was because of where I was living at the Time 1987 was Red Lodge, MT. 1988 was Missoula. You get the Point. Well You are a TUBER, Ashlynne. Photography and Videography are just Occupational Hazards, of being a TUBER.
What happens when I’m leaving for a month to travel around the east coast where I won’t have laundry available and literally have to pack a months worth of everything 🤣
I love how you organize your things. I am also a minimalist traveler and what helped a lot is Nomad Lane's Bento Bag. This is making my travel easier and comfortable.
hi will also be having my italy trip. thanx for this video. just curious if your luggage was allowed as hand carry in the plane or did you have to check it in?
I am struggling with doing just a carryon cause I like to travel to countries that are a lot cooler. I am using vacuum sealed bags, but I am a little worried about fitting my souvenirs 😭
Hi Ashlynne, I love your minimalist lifestyle videos especially the travel/ packing light ones. Can you please make a video on the brick folding method you developed? Basically a clothes folding tutorial.
This really help. Hi! I would like to ask does everything you shown in the video cater the 7 kls limit on carry on? There are some when we used to pack light but still the weight doesn't go on expected 😅
I'm not a packing cube fan either I think they take up space and don't hold as much especially for colder weather. I think rolling or tightly folding clothes definitely utilizes every inch of space so nothing is wasted good tips.
