I'm going out of town for a week and wanted to share how I pack for a trip like this. For one week, I only use one carry-on bag. Check out this pack with me video for some minimalist packing inspiration.
I also try to travel light. But there are a few things I always bring with me and I didn't see them in the video. Sunglasses, umbrella, pen, earplugs, powerbank, hotel slippers, reusable shopping bag and valet tray. I hope to get to personal item size on my next trip without using merino clothing and washing up every 3 days.
Nice! Yeah I always say everyone packs differently and will bring what is important to them, which is kind of the cool part about packing! It’s tough to pair down to what you need but totally worth it!
I love your video. Inspiring. I one bag traveled the first time in 2023 to spain for a few days. now i want to go a step further and try a week long trip with multiple destinations. I used the backoack from my company for my first trip. it is a toploader and a compression packing cube from mnt10. For the next trip next month i use my new the north face fuse box mini and i´m planning on using it in novembre again for the week long trip.
I have this AER Duffle backpack and love the construction but it is too long to use as a personal item on most airplanes. If you are traveling on a lower cost domestic or international carrier with strict weight limits, AER bags are so well made, the bag weight (almost 3 lbs) eats decisively into the available weight for your belongings (15 -20 lbs total) on average. The plane from LHR to AMS (Airbus 320) was so full, I was required to check my one backpack because it would not fit under my seat. As a result, if I travel a low cost carrier, I will only bring onboard a max sized personal item that will definitively fit under my seat.
That’s too bad you had that problem on your flight. I’ve used this bag on both domestic and international flights and I have not come across that problem - it has always fit under the seat for me. Totally agree though, if you are flying Spirit or Frontier, or the international equivalent, if you want to keep your bag under seat, a smaller bag might be the way to go!
Very interesting backpack. Do you find it practical? This was very relaxing to watch, well done with the editing! A little side note: Should you need the extra bit of space or just want to protect your shoes a bit more, you can stuff the socks inside them.
Great tip on the socks in the shoes! I’m going to try that next time. I love this backpack. Really well made and sturdy. Also the padding on the shoulder straps makes it really easy to carry even when filled to the brim.
@@outenthelights do try it, the real estate inside shoes is often forgotten :) nice! I have definitely learnt the hard way that having padded shoulder straps (and back, too, mainly if you're carrying a laptop) makes a huge difference in terms of comfort.
You can find them at keepyourcadence.com. They work pretty well but I’ve also used Target makeup containers and they are much cheaper and work well too.
