We never thought we would be trying to win gems at an arcade! That's right, we were trying to win gemstones and meteorites from claw machines at the arcade! Only in Japan will you find arcade games that have real gems inside them. We were at Everyday UFO Catcher Amusements Arcade in Saitama, Japan looking around the arcade and we came across these very cool gemstone claw machines. How many will we be able to win? What type of gems will we win? I hope we win a HUGE diamond, that would be the ultimate Jackpot!

So for the glass one, it's not normal glass. It's glass that was made from a lightning strike on a beach. When lightning strikes sand it crystallized the sand into the perfect form of the lightning bolt.

@@michelesullivan317 this is true. A karat (for the people reading this who dont know) is the purity of the mineral or gem. For example 18 karat is very high, And 6 karat is low. The highest it can go until its purest is 24 karat.

Watching these again while I am playing a game on one of my other monitors. As many times as I've watched these, I just now realized that one of the meteorites you were going for was a moldavite. I have a large moldavite solitaire that I wear all the time. They are quite rare and valuable now. :)

Fun factoid about gem stones. Most have a color we associate them with- but there's plenty of the same chemically (aside from what gives it, it's colour!) Composed gems that are of different colors. There's "Red" Emeralds called Beryl for instance that are super rare outside of being man made- There's also more commonly Pink Sapphires, most gems can be any color but by definition depending on who you talk to- it might not be the same gem.

There's no way a diamond of that size is worth more than the machine itself. Real diamonds are not that expensive at such a small size, I bought my grandma a diamond necklace from Zales for her birthday a few years back and it was only about $200 and it had more diamonds in it than whatever tiny diamond they would win out of that machine, which probably costs more than a few thousand dollars. It's the same as putting electronics and game consoles as prizes in machines, the amount of people who play the machine would likely more than cover the cost of any prize in it. Also if you don't like Crystal's voice don't watch the video simple as that.
