Thanks Doug and the team, what a splendour of the various colour forms of Tourmaline. This is the stuff exported across the World for gemstone collectors, gemstone faceters, jewellery makers et al.
Brazil is one of the best Gemstones producing country, but I wonder why the luster of Brazilian emerald is not good, it would be good to answer that I can understand the geologic view, as I m from swat, where we have the best emerald of the world! It would be helpful to know more about emerald!
Amazing....I have pink tourmaline earrings, now I will know a little more about this incredibly beautiful gemstone. ...When the world is normal again, maybe I will try to visit Brazil and this amazing tourmaline mine.
We are talking about brazil dude, we don't invest in technology. Why paying premium at a good tool that could do the job of 3 miners if we can pay 3 miners to do the same job at half of the cost. Shame but that's how brazil work.
They really outta be using long gads instead of pick axes during final pocket extraction. John Sinkankas’s book ‘Field Collecting Gems and Minerals’ outta be required reading for some of these young and upcoming South American field collectors (pegmatite miners) imho ⛏
So tourmaline are not that rare coz that's how many and how large you could find them in a days work? How much more if the mining operation uses machines? Diamond mines seldomly produces diamonds that many in a day's work. In fact a large diamond exists only once a century.
