Slabbin rock, slabbin wood, you'll have no problems reinforcing your mine this season. America needs more people who know how to do things. You're the man
Jason let me just say I am appreciative of the fact you aren't like dave from goldbay who literally tries to sell the underground video of him finding any gold in rocks as a NFT collectible, you're about learning and teaching and definitely always entertaining because you like to explain what's going on and how things work, Keep it up dude.
@@chubbydinosaur9148 just imagine the guy that made a few mil from a tiny digital cartoon put in his applications for Walmart lol. Whether you think it's stupid or not that guy made more out of that silly nft than Walmart would have made him.
i really like learning about the prospecting and processing. Thank you for sharing! i just learned there is a hazard to crushed quartz. How concerned are you about silicosis?
Hi Jason, Fantastic results! Really looking forward to seeing the results from the muck on the ground! Should be some exciting videos coming out soon! Thumbs up! STAY SAFE!! Jim
Hey Jason! Been watching you for years, and just wanted to say thanks for helping to inspire me. You and Jeff Williams are a wealth of knowledge, and I'm super excited for you opening up this active mine, I know it's gonna be a hit! I got outbid last time, but I'm gonna win some pieces hopefully this round....but fyi, they're going for a ride in my little mill ;-) Take care man!
Good stuff Jason it will be interesting to see what your oz per ton drops to when your not high grading but taking the whole vein. Love that disc crusher that thing always amazes me do they still make those??? Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼
Looks like there are tellurides in there besides the gold. Handy tip for sampling Jason: Get yourself an empty milk jug (because they are square and fit against the face). Leave the top on it and cut the bottom off with a box cutter. Now you have a jug with a handle that you can hold against the face under your rock hammer to catch the sample. Easy peasy to pour it into a sample bag and you don't have to get your sweatshirt filthy using it as a drop cloth. If you need a chisel, then you'll need a helper to hold the jug unless you have three hands.
Bismuth be your lucky day! Lol! Jason if I wasn't such a old beat up antique, I'd GLADLY😅 come over and muck that mess up for ya! Lol! Keep the materials coming! Keep that prospectors beard on, I seen Dan trying to hide this enormous crystal in his! lol! Love it all! 😂💰👍🤠
Slabs for cabbing depend on how much of a dome you want! Either 1/4 or 3/8 will work. It up to the person doing the cab. I personally like a thicker slab. The slabs you are cutting has the visible gold near the edges, so you are going to want to do very slight trimming which will make doming not likely in ny opinion. Better to leave it flat so a thinner slab would be better in this case and you can sell more slabs.
I enjoy your videos Jason! Thank you! Just had a question that no one seems to be able to answer. Do you know if iron pyrite is attracted to a magnet?? Thinking it should be because of the iron.
Instead of pouring all the water in the cloth with the sulphides I would of got rid of the dirty water and just used the spray bottle to get the material out the pan. That way it might not get as wet and stick to the cloth as much.🤔❤️💛💚
Would it be possible to saw that thin rich layer out? I don't know if they make an air powered saw like the gas powered one Jason was using to cut up those roacks in one of his videos. Run the saw on top of a board until you develop a wide flat surface for the saw to ride on directly.
Hey Jayson, I've thought about your problem about the buyoy/ bottle neck section. I have figured out a very fast way for you to get through that section. Let me know if you are interested in my theory.
Look up Scorification phase in fire assays. I use this process to oxidize base metals out of the lead before cupellation. Not for removing sulphides(use the nails in the smelt phase)
You’ll have to find yourself a saw blade with the smooth edge. The one on there is between fine and construction grade and is leaving you with those points as it vibrates the slices off the main piece. Less waste also, even though I know you eventually smelt your dust.
Watching with much interest. Best Ive found was some ore on a dump that returned .4grms from 6kilos. That was a big thrill but the shaft it came from is 25metres deep and real dodgy.
I reckon that you could pan out the diamond saw coolant/water each gold flake you see must have been cut to pieces and the pieces should be in the liquid.
7:38 is it the camera that playing with my eyes because as you took that chuck out just watch the wall under your left arm it looks like the wall is moving or are my eyes just playing tricks on me and I haven’t been smoking anything 7:38
Sixteen thousand a ton good deal But what is the cost of removal labor? Extraction Attraction processing Processing Those are the questions you have to ask yourself. You can't be just taking 10 pounds.
That is some very nice ore! $16k per ton of ore is great. Hope those values hold up as you start digging and processing tons of ore at one time. Still, sounds like scale of operation will have huge impact on profitability. Can't wait to see how this evolves!
I can't wait for more from that mine, especially if we can do a ton in one go! It'll be cool to see how many ounces come of said ton cause it'll probably be a mixture of very high to mediocre grade. Brilliant video tho dude, the whole process is fascinating and you're an amazing host, could listen to you for days on end
If your crucible’s are sticking down in the furnace, place a bit of cardboard under your crucible prior to firing to prevent it from sticking (edit: thanks to bigstackD for the awesome knowledge”
Your videos are always super interesting, thanks for the great content! I'd understand if it's sensitive information, but I would be interested in seeing more of the financial side. Did you buy that mining claim or are you leasing it from someone or the state? And how much does hauling the ore out cost vs the gold you get?
I went and looked through a couple pieces of serpentine I collected from my local river with a 90X loop and was amazed to see a few little pieces of gold, some bright yellow gem, some black gem (likely obsidian or onyx) in certain little areas, and bright silvery flashes all over the rock. One little piece of gold is standing right next to a tiny little piece of what appears to be quartz in it. I guess they do run together.. really makes me wish I had my own truck and could take a few hours to go explore the mountains around where my grandparents are buried and find a big deposit of serpentine and see what I can find in it, I have found asbestos crystals on pieces up there before but never thought their might be metals in it. I still am not 100% on what that bright silver/white metal is, I'd think exposed silver would be grey by now... maybe zinc or titanium? The only things I can find to alloy bismuth with would be tin or antimony. After cutting all those slabs you'll eventually need to clean out all the muck from your saw and smelt it down.. I can promise you there's gold in there.
I couldn't care less about gold and it's value, but there's something addicting to mining and panning for it. I love how you explain the geology and the chemistry behind mining and refining the material.
Jason, That sample was very rich but even if the average amount is half or a quarter of that, you may be the first You Tuber to show us the Gold in them thar' hills o' the Cascades! This is going to be an awesome adventure. Cheers, Rik Spector
I’m excited for you! I hope you get a late winter there. I’m in the BC Cariboo, about 4 hrs north of Dan. We’ve had it we’re we can work to Halloween and we’ve also had snow 2nd week of September. Makes it hard to plan. If you’re comfortable sharing, is this a different section of that mine with the sketchy collapsing pillars that you were sampling from in an earlier video?
I cut stones. For cabs a 6mm slab thickness is Ideal. For doublets 2-4mm is suitable. I buy Ocean Picture Stone from Dan and slab 3-4mm and make doublets with lab grown quartz crystal caps. They are very popular.
Nice to watch, keep up....🤠🇩🇰🇬🇭 Rgds Danish Viking living in GHANA 🍻 I've been following you for some time, and as always it's education and nice content....!!
