The Hydroneer journey here - • When The Biggest Gold ...
This new ground has water at the very bottom so that means less piping needed.. I decided this needed 10 fully powered drills feeding a conveyor belt that leads to the processor.. I used the other drills so the rocks are smaller and hopefully won't jam as much. These drills produce dirt at a crazy rate and as along as they don't jam it rains gold constantly. After some fine tuning it still needs work but is still a lot of fun. Eventually I will find a way to make this work. Hydroneer gameplay with my commentary as always!

Large 4x4 foundations are your friend. 12:49 Magnet stick would be good for that Hammer things in place (static objects are much friendlier to render than dynamic ones impacted by physics calculations) Space your drills further apart so the dirt stops clumping Use sorters to separate the gold and iron You can buy a saw that cuts ingots in half, making it easier to make necklaces instead of rings.

Hannah B it is really hard to make good physics in a mining game or any game really. Give the devs ( or the one dev that everyone is talking about ) a break. And he’s not trying to make it “more buggy” he’s trying to add more content. Before you talk trash about a game go try and code an entire game with physics and good graphics by yourself.

Idea: Process the dirt in the cave, into a funnel and then bring it up... The dirt is mostly clumping together on its way up, gold and iron won't clump together on its way up. Once aboveground you can use the sorting machines to sort it, which also means you don't have to go so far above ground.

How about at the top turning a conveyer belt 90° into a funnel that way you can put the pipe in from the other side and that should help with some blockages, yeah you'll have to move the top part of your build and the boxes but it might work

2 possible improvements: use conveyer sorters to siphon off water from the end of the conveyer for the dirt thingy (the sorter has a wateroutput in 2 directions) catch the products on another belt and use said sorters to sort them into piles of their respective materials. you could even place a crucible at the right spot so that the gold/iron falls into that so that you can immediately just go and smelt that without having to pick all those nuggets up

A good way to use the grinder vehicle is to use roof slants as a down ramp into the ground. So you can drive down on them. They are flat enough and you can just dig down.

Dude, you deserve a medal for trying to make this broken game work correctly. You're designs are fine and should work fine. This game its not finished at all. Why do clumps of dirt flow together like water when they are small and then stop clumping together at all when they get big enough to be a problem? That alone is ridiculous. Then you have the mystery of the magic flying sky parts. What the hell is that about. And the lag. You must be some kind of zen meditation master. I would have thrown the game out the window after 20 minutes.

Just adding this here again but best way I can think of is, having 2 lanes of vertical conveyer, with 2 set of shedder and 4 harvestor and the logic behind this is, the more harvestor you have, the less chance of it being stuck on the corner of it and also more gold, and I suggest you make sure they spit into each other, so the pipe so will run behind them

Maybe a 2 wide conveyor belt and 2x2 grinder set up for the bigger pieces of dirt, funnels under the grinders (rather than on top) to corral the little bits of gold. I'm not sure if that'll work though, because I don't know if the grinders can be hooked up like that.

You need multiple filters to help it not break. The ram drill also only produces surface level gold. You can automate it better by taking out the different types by using sorter

dirt that goes through grinders should be flagged as to NOT clump up, I could understand issues that would arise by just having this feature toggle off, but having it confined to a single machine that makes exceptions, would be wonderful I've watched every episode of this series so far and this game would make me pull my hair out. so much work for half the reward you thought you'd get

Df try adding a grinder somewhere in the middle of the rising conveyors. The big chunks will get grinded and then add another grinder at the end. That would solve the too-large chunks. As for the clogging issue. See how far a piece of dirt flies off the conveyor and then put a harvester at the distance it flies forward so that it doesn't clump up right in front of the conveyor, it looks like its going too far forward

Something you could maybe try, is having the conveyor ramp start one block lower than it currently is so that way they can fall into the middle of the conveyor rather than the edge. And then get rid of that pipe that’s blocking the grinder

might need to space the ones that produce the small dirt alittle further away from eachother (and not in a straight line as they have lots of chances to dump out dirt on another piece of dirt) also if you have a conveyor belt to catch the bigger pieces at the end and push them in a circle while grinding they can still land in the pit

put grinders at intervals along the ramp, so like 2 ramps, grinder, 2 ramps, grinder, 2 ramps and either the funnel there or another grinder then funnel, it’ll extend your set up and make it higher, but as long as the pressure is good you’ll do great

If you're doing manual labor anyways, make a two stage system. Landing A is the mining operation. It's pretty chaotic anyways, so just collecting dirt and expecting them to turn into giant clumps seems like the way to go. Then you have landing B which is just another belt for you to drop the clumps onto. They'll break down across a couple grinders and be processed into sizable chunks of gold like before. You're going to go (more) insane trying to melt down all of those itty bitty gold nuggets.
