Yes, it doesn't make sense. In the first movie, Perkins said clearly that Vector was younger than Gru, but in Minions 2, they are almost the same age..

People are confused of Vector’s age meanwhile I’m confused about Gru’s age in the timeline. For example, Gru looks around 8-9 years old in the first Minions movie, which the majority of the film’s running time takes place in 1968, meanwhile it is established that he is 11 years old during the events of ‘The Rise of Gru’ which hints at it taking place in late 1975 or early 1976 considering the fact that Gru goes to see ‘Jaws’ which is a movie that released in December of 1975, if we call back to the ‘Minions’ which it takes place 7 YEARS before, that would make Gru 4 years old when he stole the Crown Jewels, not to mention that in the FIRST DESPICABLE ME film in a flashback, Gru is watching the Moon Landing which occurred in 1969 and he looks far younger than he did the year before. Illumination has the wackiest and most complex timelines I’ve ever seen
