In this episode, I'll show you how to use your Dungeon Miser Green Stuff Roll Maker from Episode 12 to make two deadly tentacle monsters; the Grick, and the Tentacled Horror!
I love the obscure monsters that you breathe new life into. I have a bunch of plastic ware that you get free with takeout meals. Once sanitized they end up in a craft supply bin. Have some plastic straws too.
Here with the obligatory "I've seen that anime" comment... :p *ahem* Now with that out of the way... I really like this idea! I had a character in a 3e game (d20 modern) who used a spell to summon tentacled monsters every time he fired a bullet... this would have made it so much better to keep track of them (and affordable to provide the necessary amount of tentacle trackers) than simply using pennies as markers.
Great work as always Andy. 2 quick questions: 1. Is the clay you used a hardening clay?: and 2. Where do you find bases for a penny? My local hobby store sells them for 50 cents each but I can't find them cheaper. Keep up the good work!!
This is polymer clay, but you can use whatever you have. I advise using the stiffest clay you have, and if it is sticky, apply a little oil or petroleum jelly to your roller.
I have a new way of making bases you both might like. Cut multiple copies of the shape you want from HDPE plastic. Stack the shapes and use a heat source like sodering iron around the sides. It welds them together. You can then melt, drill, or cut the bases for slotted figures if you want.
