In the face of national statistics that state the median age of congregations is getting older, many churches find themselves struggling with how to best equip and nurture the faith of their young people. When Elkins Park Presbyterian Church identified that they had only a few families making up their youth group, instead of lamenting this perceived “lack” they reached out to the other churches in their wider community to see if there might be possibilities for collaboration. Through this partnership and in the sharing of resources, a vibrant youth group has come together, creating a diverse space, that in turn has energized the faith formation of these youth.
