Very nicely done, Definitely A good idea to lift the driver up. Surprise, more people haven't done that.

This really hits home with me. Everywhere we went as kids we stopped where they had trains like this. I would love to be your neighbor.

You need to put ties under it, even treated 2x4s the get some gravel stone to set it on. Then you can level everything keep it sturdy an chugging along. I drive a full size train, and a sturdy base is mandatory
