That is one understandably pissed off mayor I’m surprised he articulated himself so well. We need justice for George Floyd! Press criminal charges ASAP!
So Glad to Finally see a Politician I can believe. He really wants justice for George. You can see it and feel it in his words..Mayor Jacob I salute you from 🇬🇧
I DO NOT WANT THEM TO JUST PRESS CHARGES.. THEY NEED TO BE PROSECUTED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW!! FOUND GUILTY!! AND FORCED TO SERVE THEE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF TIME!!😎 THAT'S WHAT JUSTICE LOOKS LIKE NOT JUST-US
@@drum420 think about all those people watching this *maniac cop* kill this man, all the while begging him to get off the mans neck. He cannot claim the man was resisting, he was handcuffed with two cops holding him. He cannot claim he was in fear of his life, he was kneeling on the mans neck nonchalantly with his hands in his pockets. *I'm like the mayor, I see no reason why this cop is not locked up.* And to top all that off, *the man asked the cop very politely to please get off, I can't breathe.*
Why is he the one pissed off? He's the one that's in charge of his local police, If he hires a police chief that is incompetent in their hiring and training procedures, that's ultimately on him, not the police.
It's strange that all these incidents of deadly racist police brutality always happens in big deep-blue Democratic cities across America like LA, NYC, Chicago, Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, DC, SF, Seattle, St. Louis, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans, Miami, Minneapolis, etc. Apparently, the Demotards prove they still are the "Party of Slavery and Lynchings." Clearly, there was some sort of "stop and frisk" order in place from the white Demotard Mayor of the city to brutalize blacks in the mostly white libitard city, and he has installed a black police captain (i.e., a "Captain Tom") to do his bidding and throw the stench of racism off himself for this racist policy like white Demotard always do. The mayor is trying to save his own @$$.
Rodney Boehner Joe Arpios cases? That’s Arizona, Republican. Aubrey shooting was in Georgia... republican. I could go on and on, it’s a power trip from the officers I don’t think it has anything to do with political affiliations. Not to mention you’re bringing up the Democrat party from the 1800s which all political commentators know platforms switched.
@Angry Pent I don't care if he had the origin of corona in his pocket. Cops are not the judge and jury. Let the courts decide if that was even true or not. So a knee on the neck is in what police training manual
Up YourMom if you could explain? If I choked someone to death and my 3 friends watched...we’d all go to prison for murder. So what the hell are you talking about? Lol
1st degree murder is a planned murder. The murder wasn’t planned so I would say let’s not overcharge someone’s crime because we are asking for justice, overcharging him would be injustice. I would say it’s maybe a 2nd degree murder but I know that man and his team needs to be behind bars, aiding in a murder is murder too!
Yeah but they might have saved that guy's life I don't think I could have watched the five minutes watching him get choked slowly I would have ran up and push the f****** officer especially if it was one of my friends
Too think you actually think the mayor cares is funny... if there was a minor up-rage the most the officers would have received was slap on the wrist one month payed leaved or Id like to call regular vacation... no this time people began to wake up and riot and ofcourse they comply in the only way they truly can ever understand or they just simply fear it... which is why it’s dumb to accept what he says as truth.
@raphael vitton I'm reading body language and listening to his answers. He is not doing this scripted since it is live. What are u doing? Judging based on prejudice?
He's just a good actor who has incentive. His police department has been one of many that are implying to the cops to get rough with people. This man knows these sort of things were happening, because there's been many, many complaints. Don't give him an out because he's a "nice looking young man, who sounds sincere". The only sincerity he has is his intention to save his own neck, at the expense of the cities, "spit and polish disciples in uniform". Chauvin, the cop who knelt on George Floyd's neck, had many complaints against him, and he's not the only one in that department that has complaints against them. YET...... they were still working, and the city was still signing their checks. There's absolutely NO question, that those responsible for George Floyd being murdered, sit in the mayor's office, the city manager's office, and the chief of police's office.
George Floyd committed theft with a firearm (was sentenced to 10 months in prison), and then again on a separate occasion he robbed a pregnant woman at gunpoint in her own home (for which he served five years in prison), and he also served time in prison for cocaine on three different occasions. He was on fentanyl and methamphetamine, and used fake money when he got arrested. He got violent and resisted getting into the police car which led to the cops taking him down. We can all agree that if he was following the law this would not have happened to him. On the other hand, the following is what happened to innocent law-abiding Channon Christian: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ujBSkcwLb8s.html (she couldn't breathe either). You be the judge and decide which of these two scenarios is more likely to happen to you if you are following the law. (Re-post and share with everyone you know until the knowledge of Channon Christian's death overtakes that of George Floyd).
WHISPER responding to violence with more violence (lynching) is never the right way to go about protesting something, we just have to arrest the officers responsible, let them stand trial for murder, and any reasonable jury would probably convict the officers
“Why is the man who killed George Floyd not in jail? If you had done it, if I had done it, we would be behind bars right now... We cannot turn a blind eye. It is on us to see this for what it is and call it for what it is. George Floyd deserves justice.” Thank-you, Mayor Frey.
The murdered victim was UNARMED and NOT resisting arrest. He said several times he could not breathe and BEGGED for his life. It's all on video. These people should not only be fired, but they should also be charged with murder.
We all know the answer, because he was a cop. Anyone remember years ago before cell phones with video if this had happened there would be a whole lot of "he must have been doing something if this happened" and the like? As much as I dislike what cell phones (and other forms of video recording) have become they have been a huge boon to proving cops often do wrong either intentionally or by accident.
Claude Williams 💯 humans forget we’re all just a fragile sack of organs & they have no power given to take the ONLY life of another, especially an innocent
Over a thousand people've been arrested these last days, yet they cant arrest THREE people?!?! Three people who watched him getting murdered and still did NOTHING? Y'all this is america..
In that order. I'm confused. Their arresting Protesters wanting Justice but, Not arresting the Officer that caused the protest to begin with. Makes no sense
So I have talked to someone in law enforcement who is down for the cause and they said that it could be a good thing, that they are gathering evidence to put in the strongest charge possible. Time will tell of course but hang in there.
Lol what's so intelligent about this? Its pretty simple. Some dude was murdered blatantly. And he's calling out blatant biases that's protecting the given murderer.
Their police chief is no better, he has skimmed off 16 of 17 charges against him, and has been quoted saying "I've shot three men and none of them bother me". Nice leader! He's no longer with them, thank god.
@@isoufo bystanders couldn't do anything, the officers kept telling them to stay back and when they came forward he brought out a can of Mace. They repeatedly told the officer to get off his neck after he stopped moving and to take his pulse.
That police thug had 8 minutes to contemplate the situation. 8 minutes of hearing Georges cries 8 minutes to realise he was hurting him 8 minutes of bystanders telling him to stop But for those 8 minutes he shoved his knee into Georges neck. MURDER.
@UCsCIB62UoLg1pFHfyUGmOxA an unconscious and dying man is NOT resisting. The man had peed and his nose was bleeding. This was no issue of resisting arrest. If you haven't, watch the video if you can find it. This was cold blooded murder and it was done out of spite for the onlookers begging for the man's life.
@UCsCIB62UoLg1pFHfyUGmOxA I guess you saw another video so please release it. The one I saw had a cop holding a handcuff man with his knee on his neck. Thanks for enlighten us
He also had 8 mins of by standers begging him to stop and asking him to check George’s pulse! People telling him that he was killing this man! But he was cold, he was showing no remorse and he was displaying the highest level of evil!
Dadirty hi. Are you thinking? So its a black vs white issue claims the pimple faced mayor? Or is it really a gang thug cops issue. What about at least the 3 cops that watched? Why did they walk the man away from the supposed crime scene? Did they run out of cop cars? This police department is completely corrupted in my opinion. As are the city government and judges. These things dont happen because of 1 dirty cop.
@Zeek Banistor it was literally a 10 minute video where you could see the man struggle and then straight up die under the officers knee. look it up bro, just cuz you didnt see it doesnt mean its not there.
Tomislav Pavlović No he is not in jail, he is in detention awaiting his "sentence". He must go to prison for murder, and not for manslaughter. He is a fake policeman. He is a murder and he needs to go to Jail for murder. Nobody has the right to kill someone like that. ✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿✊
police should go on strike if officer is charged .......... why was floyd there .......... oh yea he was commiting a crime thats why cops were called ..........floyd was trying to offload fake money ...... not saying he deserves to die ........but he aint innocent
This man is a racist lol yall need to do research before claiming he needs to be president or praising him. Hes using this to fix a tarnished image. Look up his time in office and tell me this mfer ain't racist
@@topdogalpha "using this to fix his tarnished image" ......... Are you serious? If he didnt say anything people would claim he doesn't care about what happened. Tf is wrong with people. Love the ones that hate you even more.
To everyone saying he doesn’t care about black people or the community or justice, and only cares about “re-election” he was literally a civil rights lawyer for years before becoming mayor and literally ran his campaign around this stuff. He was also told point blank by protesters that they wouldn’t vote for him unless he committed to abolishing the police department on the spot. And he still refused, instead to reform the system and so forth. So I don’t think he cares about re election as much as what he thinks is right for the community. And he definitely cares about his community whether he makes the right decisions or not. I don’t agree with everything he says but I’m just pointing this out. Don’t polarize. Please. People criticize trump and republicans for polarizing and dividing. Now is the time more than ever to show the distinction and be better. And not fall into the same boat of polarization. There are shades of grey in everything and just because someone feels they should go about “change” a different way, it doesn’t make them an “enemy” or somebody that doesn’t “care”.
@Delphi Oracle No they cannot say he died of covid-19 we all saw George Floyd get murdered live on camera. Delphi Oracle you really are clutching at straws that don't exist you sound so pathetic.
This young mayor is speaking up for the community actually doing his job this is amazing! We need more people in power, not greedy power hungry machines!!
Finally, was hoping someone actually praised this mayor. This is how a leader acts, it's unfortunate that it's so rare. All cops at the scene should be charged at least with accessory to murder. They stood there and let his death/murder happen
I get what you're saying but at the same time when a world leader is saying terrible things people won't stop talking about how terrible they are. Maybe if we spent as much time praising the good politicians, we wouldn't get so many bad ones.
You can hear a sincere outrage in the mayor's voice! I wish more mayors in the country were like him. He's got some BIG balls! Hope these officers end up where they belong, in jail for murder.
Yep all of the officers should go to prison. If it was a regular citizen who was with someone that committed a crime they would go to prison too. It's the same thing. They stood there & allowed it to happen.
do you think they have a question on the application that says: are you a racist and will you kill black men? how would they know that he would do this.
FuggelKatten it’s been reported that the officer in question has had some 18 reported incidents of aggression, agitation or excessive force. If that’s true, why was he employed?
That's more the broken out dated system. In dire need of a revamped system. Back ground check. Psychology evals on the regular. Reports against officers actually being taken seriously. Some people become cops because they want to do the right thing. Others do it because they are bullies an like the power trip.
You can spot out the weird over powering cops a mile away, makes me wonder how they get through the system. You can tell they don't fit in with normal people
He´s saying it! I can´t remember ever hearing a politician speak out that sincere, mindful and clear. I don´t know him, but he sure must be a great Mayor to his city.
I'm sure he's a great mayor...really!! But when he referenced the main question he had wrestled with over the past 24 hours I couldn't help thinking: "How can I best use this opportunity to get re-elected?"
Pensions contain contributions from the person whose pension it is. They'd be entitled to get their own money back. Murder implies premeditation and intent. I don't yet believe that the officers got up that morning planning to kill someone. Negligent homicide, felony manslaughter, other charges are appropriate.
@@watchgoose , each time the man said "I can't breathe", gave that officer an opportunity to think about what he should or should not do... he continued with the killing; therefore Premeditation!
yeah yeah dont u people ever ever stop being so ignorant and all ways trying to discredit our president our president is just as angry and just as up set about this whole thing and has made and said it himself so stop with your ignorance everyone wants to see justice done period so there is no need for your ignorance in trying to once a gain use a mans death as an excuse to attack our president sorry but your ignorance is not needed let the man rest in peace and stop with your stupidity and ignorance no one wants to here u
@@sowhat8642 but this mayor and the governer are the ones responsible for that cop being on duty with a bad resume before the Floyd incident, they then were the one responsible to order his arrest immediately even before the situation had to reach the President. It was President Trump who even ordered the FBI to investigate on him. These two Leaders (the Mayor and Governor) instead of sending police to stop the violence they call them off and let the violence continue. Deborah Armstrong. If a black man commits a crime. Does the black man have the right to a fair trial? Or does only become racist if a white man kills a black.
Johnny Karte And most are crooked and are controlled by their higher ups. You see the Seattle officer who got fired for speaking up about other officers forcing stay at home order unlawfully?
I know it’s difficult to choose between an arrested suspect and your fellow (brother) officer. But as a sworn police officer having taken the oath to serve and protect the innocent, when you see wrong and injustice being done, step up and do the right thing. Do your badge proud, do your family proud and most of all, when you look into the mirror, do yourself proud.

He's an idiot. Let's be honest here- he's a simpleton. He's doing the right thing though. But it's pretty easy to do the right thing in this blatant situation. There are no greys here
he's using his words wisely so he doesn't have his opinion used as a factor that could cause a mistrial. A wise man keeps his mouth shut when he doesn't know the laws and this mayor is playing his hand very carefully
This mayor is such an exceptional leader. You’d expect political leaders siding with the cops or throwing it out there being “what a tragedy” and move on. Mayor Frey wants true justice and even want the officer to be charged. I don’t think I ever seen a mayor to make such a call, let alone being so vocal about it.
This is the first and the most honest mayor I have ever seen in my lifetime and a very fair man! I wish we could have a president like that! The country would be much better and a lot more peaceful to live in!
@Benjamin Doris Funny thing is tho.. that acting quickly and taking good measures has improved ratings for all the leaders that have done that, sadly he took a different route and even worse is bolsonaro (be grateful that the US isn't ruled by a guy like him)

He’s innocent until proven guilty and the MPD have an obligation, according to their own policy documents, to look out for the safety of the public. And Floyd was a member of the public at that point assumed innocent.
He really is furious about this situation and you can hear and feel every emotion through his voice. I salute this man! Thank you for trying to bring justice.
He’s a human with a soul, anyone with a soul and watched that video was emotionally destroyed. I think he tried to let his emotions pass before taking action, and that took one night. Awesome person, police need to know policing is for our protection and service, too much do they destroy the lives of others and destroy the constitution. They fire police who uphold the constitution and keep the egotistical monsters on board. I’m a conservative, and as Jesse Jackson once told me when they were starving Terri Shiavo, “Civil rights are for all mankind, it is not republican nor democrat.”
On Tuesday afternoon, the office of lawyer Tom Kelly confirmed they were representing one of the officers involved in the case, and confirmed his identity as Derek Chauvin
I’d almost given up on the human nature- it’s so refreshing to hear and see that justice is bestowed let it be black or white - bravo! Well done young man you have my 💓
Yes ma'am he touched my soul. As a black woman with 3 children his presence and becoming aware of him ...something just feels good. He is a blessing. May God expand his territory and authority.
This Mayor is young. I think it says a lot about his passion and moral compass. This truly and really gives me hope that this generation and the next will be all-right. It’s the old political leaders that often are small minded. I love seeing a Mayor speak through his heart like this. Much love , respect & solidarity from The Netherlands. We truly feel for the situation, for what happend to George Floyd.
The officer had many opportunities to rethink his actions and at the very least respond to the plead for air. His demeanor alone is evidence this was murder out of aggression and carelessness. Police are not above the law and are certainly not above life itself. The officer must be charged with murder and the accomplice cops must be charged for their negligence. The badge and the firearm come with the expectation of responsibility and leadership, which none of the officers on scene demonstrated. You can see why "Blue Code" is very much alive. Without the video, the entire police force would support a false narrative.
There is far too much comfort surrounding the way officers act out on scene. Make an example of this cop and send the right message that we are now in the age of accountability; Where heartless, racist and careless qualities are exposed rather than buried by false narrative.
@@designated_hitter_EGA I wish it were true. There were a lot of officers onsite surrounding them that could have influenced a proper outcome, yet no effort or integrity is visible.

This could've been an uncle or brother to any of us. This mayor is doing what he's supposed to do,and at this point its not commendable, it is necessary because if not, this will be our uncle or brother soon. hes doing the very very VERY bare minimum. from someone who *lives* in minneapolis, no. its a very very corrupt police force and the mayor is only doing this because it got such a violent outcry from not just the poc communities. he is not a good mayor if he allowed (and, this is just in this one case) four murderers to be hired into a position of power.
idk about that, but i know 99.9 percent of white people have a tough time watching that video. clearly murder despite race. so stupid we all get along pretty well, but they keep hiring these thrill kill cocky asshole above the law cops
