Marisa Simonetti, a candidate for a seat on Minnesota's Hennepin County Board, is charged with assault after throwing a live tarantula at another woman. KARE's Lou Raguse reports.

ok, what about animal abuse? throwing a live tarantula is abuse to the spider. while i dont like them, doesnt mean throwing them is ok. poor thing was just minding its own business in its tragically small habitat. vile woman for doing all of this. and the poor woman who had it thrown. i know it didnt go far or hit her, but knowing there that loose in your home is unsettling at best.

It was hard to hear, but it sounded like she was screaming that she'd just bought the tarantula. I think she bought it with the intention of using it to terrorize the other woman. I'd have more respect for someone who had a tarantula as a pet; they know how to care for another living creature (even if it is a bit icky).
