League championships for Minnesota professional teams since 1992: Lynx: 4 Loons: 0 (but semifinal in year 4 is impressive) Wild: 0 (and no Stanley Cup final) Twins: 0 (and no World Series appearance) Vikings: 0 (and no Super Bowl appearance) Wolves: 0 (and one playoff appearance since 2004) I'd bet on Cheryl Reeve to coach the next title, too, though the bar is admittedly low.
This is so bittersweet for me. I started following the Lynx and the WNBA after watching Seimone Augustus play in the Olympics. I watched the as Cheryl Reeve put together this team player by player until they were not only champions but a dynasty. And all dynasties come to an end and I fear the end of the Lynx era is coming. One session the line up won't have Augustus, or Moore or Whalen or Reeve as coach.
