A hundred-year-old dam with a structural integrity that “has been questioned for a long time.” This disaster was predictable and, with money, planning and infrastructure work, preventable. Fixing dams and bridges and old roads is expensive, and these essential projects are always getting kicked down the road. The same description of very old, with long-questioned structural integrity, could be applied just as accurately to many bridges across the country. In New England, every time the waterways are running abnormally high, often with more rain forecast, there are fears of local dams failing.

Folks, that dam has already failed. (Just sayin') It is not "imminent", but is a done deal. There's loads of uncontrolled water pouring out of it already, and no way to stop it. Water is a very damaging force and it is only a matter of time before the rest of it collapses. Even if the concrete manages to stay intact, the water is still coming out in huge amounts and will keep pouring out because that is a dam breach, it could just keep eating away at the earth around the concrete instead. Wether Faster or slower, there is no stopping that water from coming out now. That is a lot of force pouring out. That is what a dam failure looks like. With all that dirt and debri entering the water, it will only make it a more destructive force downstream.

Dams can only pressure release so much water at a time, if you get too much rain it can overwhelm the system, plus you are looking at a 100 year old dam that should have been replaced a long time ago. That dam has already failed, that is uncontrolled water pouring out of it in large amounts, with no way to control it. Only a matter of time for the water to keep eating away at more and more of it. THAT is what a failure looks like. The dam is breached.

GEOENGINEERED WEATHER/CATASTROPHES/CHOAS: WHO BUILDS DAMS AND WHY? THE US ARMY CORE OF ENGINEERS (THE MILITARY) BUILDS THEM; AND WHY? WELL THEY SAY THIS: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is responsible for operating and maintaining about 740 dams and associated structures across the country. The USACE also owns and manages more than 500 reservoirs. These dams and reservoirs provide many benefits to the country, including: flood control, navigation, water supply, hydropower, environmental stewardship, fish and wildlife conservation, and recreation. BUT THE TRUTH IS THIS: TO CONTROL THE WATER, CONTROL THE WATER AND YOU CONTROL THE PEOPLE; AND THEN WHEN YOU NEED TO DESTROY INFACTRUCTURER, YOU LET THE DAM GO... Where's our taxpayer money been going for the past 60 years? Not being reinvested into the infrastructures, roads, bridges or schools.

Some of the pictures and views online seems to give a different and kind of wrong idea of the surrounding landscape and geography. Also should be mentioned this only really a tributary stream, not the main part of the Minnesota river. Looks to me like it has already breached since that side flow with rock waterfall shouldnt be there. I think the electrval station is already gone. I predict a slow drain and little trouble. Downstream these rivers going into Green bay/Great Lakes or Mississippi can handle it.

You know what? I think I was wrong about how flooded that area has become, and especially that river/stream/whatever. But it isnt so apparent from this footage or google map pics until one views some other feeds, views, and news channels.
