The company has a dating ban for 3 years after debut. They have passed that, so they could date if they wanted to. There is absolutely nothing, including being a professional idol, stopping them from dating.... Unless it was a guy he was talking about. Yes, of course there are fans that would be butthurt if their idols started to date. Yes some idols consider it a part of their job not to, even after a dating ban. In order to keep from causing issues in their fandom. But it's still allowed and it's not the company behind his words on being a pro idol. It's just a SKZ thing to say that basically. With that said, I do wonder what is going on in his mind when he says that. Does he mean it, and is that the only reason why they don't date? Does he only say it because, "The company won't let me date a guy." would be just as problematic as dating one? Or is it more that the company just won't let him be open about dating a guy? Because from what I can tell, they don't keep them from interacting however they see fit. They just cut out the content in which they deem ill suited for release. Even if that means the content is badly butchered. It's pretty obvious they are still being themselves in front of cameras. Specially when filmed by other studios. Apparently they forget for a moment that they are being filmed by a place that doesn't cut out things like that. (For example when ha kissed Lino. His delayed reaction to it tells me that was the moment he remembered where they were... As in not at JYPE, but at an MNET studio. Or when they are on live broadcasts or interviews which can't be cut. Where the staff do have to say no to their antics, but in the moment before they do, it's still very obvious they are the way they have always been. Only now, they have the benefit of the company concealing it, instead of having to refrain. That tells me the company didn't say no about them being whatever they are, it's a SKZ. However if he were with a guy, then yeah it would be a company thing to not tell anyone. Which would mean he would still have to say something along the lines of what he did. Anyways, the thing that definitely made me curious about that back and forth was when that fan, with their tricky ways, said that they couldn't have a boyfriend. Then immediately asking if he did, and him answering no. One would think he would say "Do I have a girlfriend you mean? No." Something like that. Then again, who's to say. Perhaps it just didn't occur to him. Therefore... I have basically forgotten about the situation. I did the above thinking, of course, but other than that I try not to dwell on things that I can't decide one way or another on.
