People forget their part of the Prince lineage as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are the ones that first signed them. Mint Condition can do no wrong, they did this so effortlessly.
Prince had mad respect for MC! He even gave one his babies, a blue cloud guitar to O'dell! He actually plays it on their live DVD. Has Prince's "O(+>" on the frets as well. I've seen them almost every tour they've done since 1991 when they drove their own tour bus. IF you never seen them live you own it to urself to see them! U won't be disappointed. They even guested when he did 21 nights at the forum. Prince came out & jammed with them for 5 mins... absolute pandemonium at that point!!
what I love is that he ain't trying to be the legend and he's still got it to the bone. Stokely don't have to copy he's got his own and he is still got that energy! Keeping Prince music alive love me some Stokley!
So true. Prince absolutely loved Mint Condition. When they were just starting out, Prince used to randomly show up at their early gigs and drop hundred dollar bills on the stage while they were playing

"Purple Yoda" made my heart smile! That snippet dedication of Rolling Stone's "I Miss You" was smooth. The guitarist nailed the intro to When Doves Cry! Stokley is still yummilicious eye candy!
Even though all of them except Ricky Kinchon are Saint Paul Boys!!! Lol. That gives credence to the TWIN Cities as being that joint. I'm from Minneapolis and there are some INCREDIBLE talent in St. P.

Truly Awesome as only Stokely and the fellas can do it! This unfortunately is MC last show in NYC for a few years as they will enjoying time off doing other projects so this will keep me entertained until they come back to perform! Thank you guys for all the great music in the past and present. Looking forward to your future music!
Growing up listening to Mint condition I always had a feeling or felt like they had some influences from Prince. amazed to know Prince took them on tour with him. Their all musicians so Prince loved that for sure.
Mr V You remember the song by Mint condition called "The never that you never know"? That song sound like it had a Prince and the revolution feel to it.
e-boogie Yeah, just finished listening to it about 15 or 20 minutes ago, I don't quite remember the song exactly but the album it's on yes. I'm sort of imagining Dr. Fink & Lisa doing their thing on the keyboard/synthesizers & Bobby Z. pounding those drums in his usual cool steady motion and Wendy lending additional vocals along with Prince's lead vocals.
That was insane! That's why i love real musicians! U get triple your money's worth! The band has u eating out the palm of their hand, especially when the bury the intros in funky stuff so u can lose your mind whenever you do finally recognize the cords!!!

It's so strange that when you replied to my comment I was actually dining & waiting for The Revolution to come out on stage at B B King Blues Club in NYC. Their guest vocalist who sang several of Prince's songs with The Revolution was none other than Mint Condition's Stokley Williams! He sang Uptown, DMSR, Kiss, Erotic City Let's Work. I love him!!!!!

Yeah I've seen them many time here in my hometown at Summerfest, I remember some of the concerts back when they use to bring 2 Drumsets on stage for the Intros like from Mint Factory and Definition of a Band and their Mintaludes, I actually am the same way about my boy Prince, he was my favorite artist as a musician, I play 4 instruments bcuz of his influence to music (well let's say 3 1/4 instruments just started working on Guitar), gotta get Michael Jackson in there too, it's kinda hard to separate the importance in influence they are for me and now both of them gone is crazy, music has suffered from them being gone. I don't listen to the radio for the music existing now bcuz it's so suck no real originality anymore all we have typically is stolen styles.

I've always loved MC and always have been captivated by Stokley's voice but he just did something to me watching him in those red pants...playing that guitar!! OMG😍😍 Awesome performance as always!! Never disappoints.
