Note: May 6, 2024 the price for the 10 day pass is only 20$. Currently in Spain and everything works, text call and data. Remember to set up your APN for full access to all features.
Used the previous Mint mobile plan in B.C. Canada. Didn't work at all. The local carriers would not accept the plan. Funny that, since the main spokes person and co-owner/investor is Ryan Renolds-- a Canadian. Can't say if the new plan is any better, but I would be very concerned and tend to not plan on it.
The Mint 10 day plan is now $20 but they add almost $4 at checkout for garbage fees, so it's not $20, it's really $24. I need five weeks of data so Airalo will cost about 2/3rds less.
Does the international minutes you get allow you to call foreign phone numbers within the countries you are visiting as well as calling back to the USA? Assume if I"m WIFI calling back to states that does not count?
It is horrible for those that have local or data only eSIM and mostly want international roaming just for a few 2FA texts or maybe some quick calls, as it forces you to pay for data you won’t use, and if using for extended time is $160/month on top of normal plan.
I have been using the Google Fi flex plan for 2fa in Australia for the past 2 years. Data is (unofficially) cut off after 3 months of international use but you can disable it in your account and re-enable as you need it Costs me $26/month without making any calls
If I am only traveling for 4-5 days can I buy the 7-Day pass(I think it's a 10-day 20gb pass now), and use all that data allowance up in the 4-5 days if I want to?
