@@thereeltbell3289 Mint Mobile uses the T-Mobile network, and in my area T-Mobile has decent speeds and coverage. Check T-Mobile coverage in your area to see what kind of performance you may be able to expect. I link to great coverage resources on this page: www.bestphoneplans.net/networks/t-mobile#coverage
@@StetsonDoggett Mint has always said they use the Verizon network. Did they switch from T-Mobile? They’ve been marketing that since Summer or Fall of 2021 I believe.
If he does this at home it’s no problem but I have helped people download their podcasts before leaving home through other apps onto their devices. Many people especially my age and older just don’t know.
Wow, that's awesome they're adding more data for each of the plans. I love how great Mint Mobile is. I'm really glad I switched because of you. I can't wait for the changes to come.
How's the experience been with mint so far , any problems ? How strong is the signal I'm located I'm California and kinda wanna try this out cause paying 60 a month is alot compared to these prices
Thanks for the REAL review! People don’t understand the throttle issue and being home on wifi makes a huge difference with any carrier. I have had to customize my plan for 7 devices with Verizon and we have different needs. Even though we have unlimited data I still have changed who gets hotspot and who doesn’t. It is really a in-depth work to keep cost down. I have all devices paid for so I have my bill under 200 now
Here on 11/11/2021, Boost under the Sprint umbrella, still hasn't merged with Tmobile, even though last December, they were trying to make all their customers buy new phones. My roommate has Boost and has better service. I took my Metro PC to Colorado from Florida 2020in the summer and very few drop outs except near Native American Tribal Lands. .
I was with mint for a couple of months and it was good at first but I could barely get a signal at places since I drive a lot so definitely not worth it. It's only fast at certain places
@@LegendsUniverse Metro pcs sucks in my area and while Metro used to have great service in Florida, now it doesn't. It depends where you are and how many towers there are and Tmobile doesn't have that in certain Counties in Florida.
So after my 3 months of unlimited for $30 a month it goes to $40 a month.... The $25 a month 15gb plan goes to $45 a month after the first three months... WTF.
I switched over from Sprint/T-mobile. It was a no brainer! Super easy to set up. I kept my phone number. I will renew to 12 months when my 3 months are up!
Thanks for your review. Now we will try it at our location to see if it works in our home. So far, only AT&T's network has done this but T-mobile claims they finally improved it in our neighborhood. So we are going to try one of our four phones on their 7 day trial and see if it works.
I just switched from Straight Talk after 8 years! Saving $14 a month and still getting 5GB hotspot access, plus my service is now paid for for until September 2023!. I wont have to pay a cent for phone service until then.
Truck driver here, purchased the unlimited plan, 3 months full and 3 months free. I do not have wifi on the road and ate the 35 gigabytes in 18 days. Now my speeds got dropped, upon reading the contract it got dropped to 128kps and it threatens to drop to 64kps if i continue using the internet. This disclaimer should be on the "unlimited plan" not the extended contract. Cricket wireless only slows down data speeds in peak hours, not the rest of the month. Just feel i was misled.
I’m currently paying $180 with T-Mobile for 2 lines. One with the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the 12 mini. If I switch to mint I’m basically paying $120 for 2 lines but then again is with T-Mobile
Is there a code we can use instead of the link? That way I can use Rakuten, get $10, and the code for $15? What do you think this year super bowl deal will be? Same as Black Friday and last years Súper bowl deal?
Switched to Mint last year and I don't think I could go back to another carrier. Was paying sprint 70 for unlimited data and would use rougly 8-12g a month with spotty service. Now I pre-paid my year for 240 in August 2021 and had had the same if not better service than I had with Sprint. I don't think you can expect to downgrade from Verizon service and expect to be blown away but at 1/4 of the price per year its worth giving it a try.
If you stream a lot, won't the recommendation after 3 months be skewed? Streaming in 480p uses much less data then 1080p, so they might recommend a plan that is too low if you don't pay attention to video res settigs
sadly - my family and I have had a rough start with Mint Mobile here in Utah. Frequent network disconnects or data speeds so unbelievably slow that it is ridiculous. I've spent hours with support and tried several items without much success. Needless to say - I am NOT a happy customer right now. Yeah, I know, the price is less than half what we were paying for T-Mobile. But even though Mint Mobile is supposedly utilizing T-Mobile infrastructure, we are not having near the same level of experience and quality.
I'm thinking of giving mint a try for 3 months. We are currently paying out the butt for Verizon. I figure I'll switch and if they work out we can switch the rest of the family.
Hey man great video just have one question when you use all your 5G data how slow does it actually become can it still run apps and send/load things affectively or does it take awhile and buffer?
How’s the service, such as calls being dropped or not coming through? Texts comes through as should? Also, please tell me this isn’t like sprint service, where is you’re on a call, you can’t be online at the same time?
Mint mobiles plans or their options are confusing it says you can renew 30$ unlimited data plan for 90$ every month I’m so confused and I don’t know what their plans renew works
Outstanding blog/presentation you put together here on Mint Mobile. A Clean, Informative, articulated blog with quality testing and review analysis. Wish they. We're all like this.👍
I try test carriers mint service is great and speeds are okay but noticed that Mint has no spam protection I got more spam calls than I do with my regular carrier
Every time I see Mint Mobile come out with a good idea, I get increasingly worried that they'll eventually get a wide enough audience that they'll act like another cellular service provider :(. Of course it's different since they use another company's networks but just don't be another OnePlus, Mint :(
They are technically are as this plan is actually false advertising as it's not actually unlimited it's basically a heavy 3G speed throttled after 35 gigs. Not really unlimited now is it
been checking mint mobile out and I'm one of the 15% who go over the 35gb limit, my autistic son requires that grandfathered unlimited 3g hotspot when traveling but this could work for my daughter who's 14 and is getting to 'that age' and may have to let herself into the house after school in the coming months as mom and dad still are at work for a half hour or so.
I don't think the reports showed average customers used less than 10GB/m told us the whole story. If people have an unlimited plan, they may use more data. When I use Mint 10G plan, I used 45GB for the whole year. After I've switched to the unlimited plan, I used over 35GB for each of the first 2 months (it's the second month now). I just watched RU-vid and Disney+ everywhere using 1080P instead of 480P or just listening to a podcast I used to.
So if I have the $15 plan with 4G data once I use that they throttle the down the speed but I still have data at no charge, if I use a VPN it won't drop the speed on my data because it doesn't recognize that I am using data?
Is the data unlimited plan as the cricket wireless plan cuz cricket wireless unlimited plan is way faster then T-Mobile unlimited plan can anybody tell me or say if it’s faster or slower
I am among the 4% sadly. I committed to this plan and I hit my 35gb in the first 5 days. And now I’m stuck with 128kbps which doesn’t even let me get a simple google search done. I fell for the “unlimited” without seeing the fine print. I’m so sad and disappointed in myself. I should’ve read and done more research. I played online games, watched a lot of Netflix + RU-vid, and used FaceTime alot . That’s all I did to spend 35gb in 5 days.
I use 50.. average so that is problematic too... but you know, I need to remember to switch to WIFI when I am at work.. (with VPN)... it is a matter of changing your behaviors I think...
@@caelidhg6261 Well, that's great if you have consistent access to wifi, but there are always people who don't. There are people for whom their phone is their only source of internet (speaking from experience).

I am with Visible, and from what i been told uses the Verizon tower system, my problem is if i leave town and try to use the M1- in many places i get full bar signals and when i connect to the M1 and try to browse the web - nothing happens - just sits there and never connects to any sites. I get back to my home town and it begins working again with no problems. What could be the problem?
Currently testing Xfinity unlimited. I eat through 20g fast in a week. But I like to livestream IG FB & others , sometimes 2 at time. It drops to 128kpbs I need a steady 2000kbps (even tho I’d like 6-8k kbps. What are the options without breaking the bank? Plus I like to steam 1080 on my iPad
For most consumers, it will _feel_ like an unlimited plan because it has enough data that they will never need to think about their usage. And that’s what people want. Not necessarily unlimited data, but to be able to use their phone without thinking about their data usage.
I think your reviews are great. Id like to ask if you could go over "stand alone" cell service and how it works for Apple Watch not actively connected to an iPhone. Thanks
Yes, you can. Each line needs to be set up under a separate account first, though. See my video here on how Mint Family works: www.bestphoneplans.net/news/mint-family
@@TheBigBangChannel if your phone is eSIM compatible, then yes, you should be able to use two numbers. You'd need two accounts, as I mentioned earlier, and what you can do is activate one on eSIM and one using the physical SIM.
I'm on Mint's $15/month 4GB plan, with taxes included, it comes out more to like $17~18ish dollars a month but wanted to say the plan works great for me, I actually don't use much mobile data apparently, but if I ever did run out of 4GB for the month, at the lower 2G/3G unlimited speeds after 4G is gone, I can still stream The Woody Show podcast on iheartradio with the stream buffering or anything so I'm good, also GPS and traffic and navigation work at the lowered speeds also, if Mint released an even bare-er minimum plan like 1GB or 2GB for under $10, I'd totally switch to that. Also spotify and my other music apps, if I'm streaming don't buffer with the 2G/3G speeds, great cheap plan for me
Hi Stetson!! I love what you are doing, saving people A LOT of $$!! I have been thinking about getting Visible for a while now, can you do an update for Visible mobile now that 5G is more available? Thanks a lot!! 😁😁😁
I ordered a sim and prepaid for three months, I never received the sim because their warehouse was shortstaffed so never activated their services and now, I have been trying to get a refund for weeks and they continuously make me send emails and talk to different agents saying that they will process the refund, yet never do it. Their customer service is horrible, none of their agents care about helping you and meanwhile, they fund their business using my money when I never even received services. Worst experience of my life with a mobile service provider. If you give them money, you will never see it again. They just invent excuses to never refund you.
@@kk_princezz1235 visible deprioritizes their user but it's not that bad compared to other prepaid users and 25 a month for unlimited everything can't be beat.
