Man, this is my biggest problem. I need people. I live in a small town, but a clueless one. Yes, I have some friends, and trusted individual, but the smart ones have gotten old, and started to die off. No one is hard anymore. I need to move. I am 46, but capable. That isn't because I'm Rambo. I work my ass off for it, daily. This has stirred me up, because I have known this is a problem for awhile. I am looking forward to this series. I definitely have to change my situation in this area. Good video.

One thing you have going for you is living in a small town. I'm 47 and live in a township that's wedged between a small-medium size city 10 minutes one way and a medium size city 30 minutes the opposite direction. I'm also involved with a well organized, equipped, and trained militia. Getting a group together is tough. I know, since I've done it. There's infighting and lack of attendance to deal with. You might have to go rogue or get involved with your state militia, if they're any good.

A wife capable of watching the cameras and waking you if someone turns up, is what you need. Most preppers make the mistake of thinking they need a team of guys. You have to feed this group remember.

Oh, Yea, she is trained up for sure. I don't think I need a massive amount of people< some of the good points that Randall brings up in this video I am lacking in. My family is for sure in the know, and I have a small team. I simply was pointing out where I do know that I am lacking. I can see the trouble with too many guys. More people more problems. Small, capable, and versatility I guess is more accurate. I would be good with that. It's hard to trust people. Some have crazy ideas, and no formal training. I like this kind of conversation, man. I appreciate your input@@Ronin54-

Their ok with playing soldier but please understand the other side of training and flanking etc. the opposition having unlimited resources has a bed to rest and food to eat while coming after you in lue of eliminating you and wiping out everything and everyone you care about! While your hiding and trying stay alive their taking prisoner your entire family and burning your home to grown so you have to stay in woods or desert getting tired by the day and same with anybody that’s with you!

I live in a small town of 3000 in Northern Idaho…most everybody here is former or active military/first responder. I married a nurse 😁 I have a MAG agreement with all of my neighbors…all together we’re on about 3000 acres. We have an active county emergency management team that does weekly GMRS radio checks to list people, test equipment, etc. There’s only one way in/out of our area. Our sheriff is extremely community based and says the more weapons/accessories he has in his county the better 👍🏻 We have a hydroelectric dam and a fish hatchery for power & food. I think we’ll be alright but the thought is still scary and I hope nothing ever happens. I’m a former LEO (11 years) & POST firearm combat instructor and still train as much as possible. Great videos man! Keep them coming 🍻

Watching a few of your vids got me all fired up to start a little local minuteman group. But then I remembered I'm in the suburbs of Socal and if I start hitting up random people and explain to them I'm trying to *basically* form a little mini militia for SHTF scenarios, I'm probably gonna get a visit from the Feds in no time. And i really don't need Feds at my house, lol. People are weak. In my situation, it would probably be wise to keep staying lone wolf gray man, and plan with my wife and my one only true close friend who lives 10 mins away.
@greenman4508
@greenman4508 7 месяцев назад
Well, definitely a way better synopsis than I expected when I clicked. You nailed me good a couple of times, which I thank you for. I’ve lost so much faith in humans , and feds infiltrating every movement, I’ve avoided groups like the plague recently. However the ring of truth always hurt , so good. As a non veteran who hates to be told what to do, especially by people from the military ,craving authority in civilian life, I can see a host of potential issues. As the proud grandson of two ww2 heroes, and the husband of a veteran wife, my theoretical admiration of vets has had an interesting small town reality check over the last section of my life. Serving many veterans dinners , becoming friends with a slew of great men , deeply scarred and endowed with wisdom and PTSD, has taught me much. They are dropping like flies sadly. Perhaps this is a commonality; there’s the vets you’d expect, gruff, drinking, republican, straight shooters who know how to size someone up in a few moments. I really love those a$$holes, even if I can’t hang with them 24/7. Then there’s the lefties, shockingly. They were always trying to outrank, take over events, undermine community functions and steel members from the other click through gossip and backstabbing. Then there’s the guys who are perverts, using the social benefits of vet to get into family settings and leer at little girls while they volunteer to help. Get a few drinks in them and find out how dark that underbelly is. Still, they get protected because they’re a vet. They oscillate between groups when things get hot, wait for a leader or two to die off, then slither back. So I imagine the infighting between groups if shtf, would be epic even in a small town. However, all that learning has given me a keen eye for discernment and I have much to offer my community. I will listen again to your video and digest. I’d recommend the channel “ tech ingredients “ . We can’t plan for the last war. His latest couple videos about making AI powered laser drone defense systems and the series on smoke grenades are top notch among many. Thanks again.

Good shit. I am going to add some of those tips to my SAR team ftx and mutual aid program. I was on a stream with you and Stoker a while back and joining SAR was tossed out as a good way to get your ass moving if you don't have a mag. There are too many gifts that advice gave me. Most important it got me on call drop of a hat jumping up rushing out the door and working with a team of people I don't nessisarly see eye to eye with in critical moments. That was invaluable. Alot of what you cover translates and the delta from theory to prac ap is always fucking amazing no matter how good the advise is the reality of applying it destroys the most well read paralysis by analysis armchair ego driven inputs on its face. What's wild is the multitude of small adjustments you make to prestige new gear to make it functional for yourself. You'll never know till you do the thing. For super cold weather drone flights there are four small tips I discovered that mutilate gear to a person not doing the thing but it makes the situation work because of issue in the field you'd never think of till you're in the shit or doing complex ftx. Keep it coming man. It's more valuable than you're given credit for.

I'm about to start training my Proud Boy chapter with basic infantry tactics and one of the other chapters in our state is headed by an ex-marine infantryman. We are building a solid network in South Carolina. I would encourage anyone in a militia to try to find your local PB chapter. We aren't a militia but we can be when we need to, it's hard to really define exactly what we are but we have a massive somewhat organized international network. We are in 48 states and several countries. Just individual militias alone won't have the strength of a network. In the revolution the colonial militia didn't get involved until way later into the conflict. The minutemen were a private militia but they were mostly if not all members of the Sons of Liberty and the Sons of Liberty was a front for the Bostonian Freemasons who were fed up with British policies. They'd all meet at The Green Dragon Tavern and then they started protesting, rioting, tarring and feathering etc. Then the SoL spread across the colonies. But it all started with a fraternity in a bar. The Proud Boys are a drinking club and fraternity with the same ideals as the Sons of Liberty. Point is it worked in the past. The network built by the freemasons and then the Sons of Liberty(who were mostly masons) made it possible for the Revolution to happen.

Aside from preparing for natural disasters, which makes a lot of sense, there are two things that the prepper people are overlooking when it comes to defending their freedom. First is, what is the signal? How will all of these prepper people know that it is time to act? How will they know what is the moment to stand up? What if there is no blatant surprise attack like Ft Sumter, Pearl Harbor or 9/11? What if the siren never goes off and the actual signal is just silence? How will they know that the moment has arrived if that moment simply fills the prepper people with complete doubt and suspicion because the moment did not make itself apparent or overt? What if the time to act is missed through inaction and confusion? Second is, lawfare, and it is tied to the first. It is quite likely that all of the people preparing for defense of their freedom are never even going to get to use their prepared stocks and skills at all. What if the bad guys just take everyone that is not going along with the tyrannical program off of the streets, one by one, working down a list, neighbor by neighbor? What if the bad guys just claim that the prepper people are criminals, terrorists, etc and arrest them on false charges and warrants? What if the prepper people just disappear or never make it back home? What if the bad guys have a plan already prepared to take all of those that believe in freedom, liberty and patriotism and just put them into prisons and camps with no intention of giving them a chance to defend themselves either in court or by other means? Do you see? The bad guys are most likely going to use unconventional, uncompromising and unorthodox methods to reach their goals. Not saying that preparing is futile or pointless, but saying that it is hard to know what the 21st century tyrants are willing to do to see their plans come to fruition and that ALL possible options are on the table.

You bring up a seriously critical question, which the answer is that resistance to a threat, requires teamwork. Just like the original Red Dawn movie, even the most rag-tag group has to have a competent leader. Without a leader, everything goes to chocolate 💩 pudding. Because leadership is so important, local militias are the best response to most threats. This is why voting for the right person as county Sheriff is so crucial, because this person is the only one who can legally deputize people into a local militia, (posse) and no one else can, but the state governor. A posse is given statute authority to restore and maintain the peace and to arrest outlaws. An outlaw is anyone suspect of commiting crimes, either having been previously found guilty or merely suspected of guilt based on credible evidence. Therefore, the first direction you should go, is contacting the sheriff, presenting a list of names of people available for posse call up and giving him time to run background checks and to conduct mandatory classes on the duties and limits for the job. Having a deputy sheriff auxiliary will be similar to volunteer firefighter, which includes ride-along for indepth real, on-the-job training. This kind of volunteer service can also lead to employment as a deputy. Ex military can also work out similar pathways with the state national guard, in the exact same way the Coast Guard maintains a ranked, but non commissioned Auxiliary. Hope this comment was helpful.

The whole premise of minutemen, dictates several selection factors, which are beyond scarce nowadays. I don't care how many vets we have... finding men with basic rifleman skills isn't a problem. Finding people who are well versed in small unit tactics and selective contact mitigation on the other hand, is a huge concern... and an outright necessity.... and as you point out, proficient recon skills are a must.

The US Army does use lessons learned for a while then they forget everything they learned. Example. Vietnam. By the time we got deeply involved in Vietnam, every lesson it had learned in WWII in the Burma indo China theater had been lost. They dropped it and moved on. So then Vietnam caused the Army to go back and have to relearn all that it had forgotten and establish the jungle warfare school in Panama. Now 25th Inf Div has established a new one in Hawaii with a good 20 to 30 year break in having a dedicated school for that warfare. They got so involved in the Middle East that they have about forgotten how to fight a war in Europe, and they had to drudge up lessons learned from the desert warfare on WWII. So don't rely on the Army remembering lessons learned for a long period of time, because their own history has proven otherwise

Hey Randal, I have a question. You mentioned how useful healthcare workers are. Would you say this also goes for mental health care workers? See, I was a Navy master at arms(military police) for six years and I was a civilian cop for three years. I never served in combat, but I got the chance to do some good training on active duty and in the police department. And, of course, I have the street experience. Now that I’m not a cop, I’m in grad school for social work and I do volunteer EMS on the side. Do you think there is a role for someone like me who can help people with their personal and mental health issues, and pull security, and do field medicine in the situation you describe?

Pulling security is probably a good idea since (I assume) you're good at observing and reading people, given your background and training. Probably won't be many therapy related jobs during high activity, but you can definitely put your skills to good use.

If you’re lucky enough to be living in a conservative, rural community…go meet your county sheriff. Get a feel for him. Is he a veteran? His thoughts on the rights of citizens to bear arms for defense and to oppose tyranny. Will he follow unconstitutional orders to protect his job, or will he support his constituents and oppose federal overreach and the imposition of compliance by threat/force. Try to go on some drive alongs with the deputies. Find their philosophical positions on the things that matter to you. Lots of deputies are veterans. Hunters. Gun guys, and DEFINITELY not fans of the tyranny they have experience fighting against and they’re sure as hell not going to allow it to be brought to THEIR counties and their neighborhoods. Sheriffs are all short staffed. Most would welcome knowing that there’s community members wanting to volunteer to train in support positions to assist in a time of need. A mass-casualty incident, natural disaster, etc. Being able to help with ANYTHING that needs doing and can be done by a known volunteer, frees up a deputy for a more critical role they’re trained and authorized to do. Meeting your sheriff and some deputies is also just good fkn intel too. You’ll know if/who among them are likely to be a potential threat, a sellout or a guy who’ll shed the badge and go home to protect his own family, supplies and the “tribe” he’s part of. Networking is a thing that has largely been lost for many of us. Especially in our senior years. Having training in first aid, fire fighting, comm’s, supplying and operating drones, mechanical skills, equipment operator, etc. Search and rescue, SCUBA diving. All skills that a community needs in unexpected situations. Lots of us grew up with guns. Hunting and target shooting for fun. Guns and shooting may also be necessary but having additional, useful skills are what separates the men from the boys. Especially the gurly-boys. Bring more to the table than another “Rambo” wannabe. There will ALWAYS be a place/need for experienced, combat veterans who are also former leaders. We had a county militia, also a Committee of Safety but many of us have died off and aged out. Being in my seventies makes it hard to be taken seriously by young people who think “preppers” are as nuts as “boomers” and they’re more interested in getting back to their gaming. I like what you share with us in your videos.

I've gotten some flak from some people about my initial comment. Let me clear the air for those who have ears to hear, and eyes to read. I love my home. I love my land, my massive garden, my animals, my homemade shooting range. What's more is that I own it, bought, and paid for. Here's the big issue as I'm not all hung up on gear as some suggested. I'm capable of a lot with very little, but extra hands are more than useful. The problem is that I live in the Southern part of a Midwest state. Here's a hint. They hate the Constitution. In particular the 2nd amendment. You can't even buy AR-15 Rifles here now, and nothing that holds over 15 rounds. If you already own an AR-15, or anything similar including high capacity magazines, you are supposed to report them to state "authorities", so that they have all of your info. Then, you are supposed to go out, and replace your magazines with 10 round for rifles, and no more than 15 rounds for handguns. I will say there are many in law enforcement here that recognize this as unconstitutional, and will not do anything to you, but if you do not self snitch on yourself you are breaking the law, apparently. It sucks, cause I own my home, my land, and garden, and animals, but I need to network more, but politically it is very messed up here right now. What do you think of that? It doesn't matter if you have served your Country with honor or not. I've never been arrested, and have no criminal record like so many of my brothers, and sisters that live under the thumb of this tyrannical bullshit.

I’d like to know more about the legal line between a militia and a community response team. Unfortunately the federal government has made it illegal to conduct “military style training” in your civilian group and you can believe the three letter agencies are happy to throw around words like domestic terrorism, especially if your group has any “radical” free thinkers.

6:36 So...in my situation, i should focus on sharpening, retaining, and improving my CCC/ComMed stuff? I spent more time learning how to patch up battle related injuries, then i spent on marksmanship, land nav, and patrol/breach? I dont have a group, so all i can really do is improve my self. I cant learn new things. Sucj as proper clearing procedures, patrol patterns(beyond basic stuff like, file, scatter, delta, as well as road crossing and stuff like that, even tho i cant really practice that alone either. Lol) I cant do this becajse I dont habe a group that knows any of this other stuff. My land bab is absolutely basic. Map, compass, memory, marking. I forgot most of the stuff i learned in BCT, and i sont have a buncj of USGS maps for my area to practice on.

Hello Grunt Proof, you have some good videos on advice. But may I ask a question what if a person lives in a rural agriculture former mining town that has a small municipal airport plus let's say the national guard is deployed overseas and the local law enforcement is overwhelmed after a natural disaster say a tornado. How could a modern Minuteman/militia unit respond to that to help out their community?.

Great video, my question is how does one become proficient in Land nav in a civilian context? I mean im sure if you live in your area you naturally know where things are at least the populated areas and main roads...etc some more then others. The civilian way would be a normal map and normal compass maybe Gps or hunting apps. But lets say you have to do Land Nav in your area or state with no electronics. I assume if someone is good at Scales, ratios, and math one could make a map of there area or state like the way the Army has there maps so you can use the military way of land nav in a civilian context. Any thoughts on this?

Look up topo maps with grids. See if you can find a site that will print them off for you, you should be able to find one. If you can get the maps printed off then you can practice in areas you know and work your way into navigation with map and a compass in areas you don't know.

I don't miss the KLE's but I know their a necessary evil. Even if going into your community and doing a SWEAT assessment and helping the locals figure out ways to improve their quality of life will build trust and gain their acceptance. Barring getting a 20k$ grant for the locals to build a candy shop for the kids lol.
