I've been following GVF since 2018, been to see them live 8X. They said this would never happen, but I could see it coming more and more as time went on. GVF was supposed to be Jake's band, but Josh progressively stole the show. To be fair, he does have a tendency to take up all the oxygen 🤣. When I saw the collab that Jake did with Ida Mae on Long Gone and Heartworn I thought oh boy, here we go! It's no secret Jake and Josh haven't exactly shared the vision of where their music should be going. I think Jake just played along because it was working (and because they had a contract to fulfill), but he's not the flamboyant, theatrical type that Josh is nor does he like how "spacey" Josh can be with his vision, lyrics and aesthetics. Can't say I'm a big fan of Chris Turpin's voice (it sounds eggy), but I look forward to hearing some more down-to-earth stuff from Jake and this group as a whole.
I've been a fan since 2018 as well. I know alot of people who are growing tiered of Josh's "screeching." Jake hasn't participated in any of the new make up and bling that even Danny's on board with. I think he just wants to keep it about the music and not some ayahuasca trip.
@@avalondreaming1433 I agree, Jake does seem much more down to earth and is just about making good music about real life. That's the one thing missing in GVF's music...it isn't relatable. Not to say GVFs music isn't good, I just think it's gotten to be as much about the theatrics and Jake's theatrics, especially, seem like a put on. I could see him secretly seething in interviews (especially when Josh would hijack them) and I could tell it really wasn't what he wanted to be doing. Good for him for being true to himself! I hope he can find a way to do both because GVF's sound starts and ends with Jake Fucking Kiszka!
@kindking8009 Absolutely, it's his band. He started it. Joshua wanted to be a director. Of course they're all incredibly talented though. From the Fires will always be my favorite GVF record.

I think one of mine was funny bc I started to video, then the person in front of me started to do the sane and they were dead center of my frame! It looked like a picture in pictures for second. I just had to laugh, but I kept going. It eas still a decent clip w/a weird story attached! Glad ingot.tonsee yours too!!
@gingerrogers3541 I'm thinking about going to see them at Winstar in August. I'm guessing Jake will still be opening. It would be great to see some solo dates. I'm so impressed with Jake's voice.
