Sheraton Mirage today with it's so called modernized renovation isn't anything close to what it was back then in the 80's, pure luxury. Whoever wrote this song was a genius, my eyes used to light up whenever this ad came on TV. I did stay there few times and yes the place was magical and too good to be true!
My eyes always lit up when this ad came on too. I was captivated, and it seemed too good to be true, yet would stop me in my tracks. Even as a kid, I knew only the upper echelons of society may experience it, yet it didn't stop me from imagining staying there.
lol, Indeed, 'too good to be true', in the end so was Skase but this part of his legacy was undeniably profitable, albeit only for those who picked the carcass of his idea. In the end he got boned just like Bondy, because they both punched above their weight and those who could wanted to cut their respective tall poppies, but both gave an awful lot and enormously helped the Aussie brand go global. I'll never forget that morning in September 1983 when we won the America's Cup, everything that followed was born from that amazing David and Goliath story.

Not sure about the female vocalist, but the male singer is Rick Price from Beaudesert, Qld, Also well known for singing the official 1988 bicentennial song and becoming one of Australia's leading singers in the 90s.
