Cant believe that the Mirage is actually going to lose this after all of these years, one of the most famous shows on the strip, and the whole hotel is going to become another version of the Hard Rock hotel
As to WHAT WILL THEY DO WITH THAT SPACE?, I'm betting that they'll pave over it all and build commercial on it out to the strip, the way Treasure Island did with the once-beautiful Pirate Show space. Just disgusting. I suppose the Bellagio fountains will be the next to GO.
@@52lvlv if your talking about where the volcano show used to be, they are going to build a 2nd building for the Hard Rock Hotel on that spot, one that is going to be in the shape of a Guitar, and and the end of the guitar;s neck, just like what the Luxor has, it is going to have a huge spotlight that is going to shoot straight up into the sky...as for the Treasure Island, remember they buildt that new building which now houses the Avengers show and if correct a CVS store, and building that made them had to permently cancle the pirate/siren show, cause now that ship on the side where the building is, cannot travel back and forth now, so now that has been permnetly docked....
im glad i got to experience vegas in the 90's, the volcano, the pirate show, the magicians and tiger guy, all the other amazing events. vegas in 1990's was the best
@@Cykrypt in regards to the pirate show you must be talking about the Treasure Island they had the pirate show and then they had the siren show with all the women but then once they built the Marvel show on the other side they had to shut down the pirate show because they couldn't move the ship on the right anymore so now the Pirates show is completely gone forever

Spectacular video! I still cannot believe Hard Rock wants to demolish this attraction later this year. It just shocks me how much they don't appreciate it's appeal.
At least I got to see this in person! Why would they want to replace this icon with some giant guitar?! Not to mention that the Mirage is a Polynesian themed hotel so the volcano fits in super perfectly
The Mickster never ceases to amaze me. First he does a CD where he places a recoding device in his wife's womb (Music to be born by), then he does the Rainforest thing ( I think he played a role in Blues for the Rainforrest), then he does the superb, no one can forget Planet Drum CD, then he got the Tibetan monks to chant for him and he made a CD out of THAT, then he does some funky thing recording the sound of the Golden Gate bridge, then this! Mickey is so brilliant, its frightening! Seriously, its not a causal expression. He really is the Einstein of percussion. His endless creativity and ingenuity is really, really awesome, but frickin scary! How high his IQ? Like 200 or something!?
I saw this when it first opened in the 80's. You talk about people being excited. My sister and I were across the street and people were really going nuts and honking their car horns and everything. Steve Wynn is one amazing architect I tell you.
I saw this and Vegas and my brothers and I thought it was the coolest thing! I just had to see it another time, and you made it happen. I subbed and liked!
This show is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! Shoutout to all the homies that live in vegas including me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SPOILER ALERT: i went here last saturday the ending is hella scary i got hella scared i was like aaaahhhhhh.
My last trip to Vegas my room was right above this thing. It is much better to see from up high, but down close you can feel the heat of some of the bigger blast and the water spray. It also smells like a tropical fruit of some sort. The check in girl said that they remove the " rotten egg" smell from the gas and add a fragrance. I thought it was a myth, but it is true. You can smell it!
we were here in November on our last night in Vegas and the show was supposed to start at 8pm but it didn't because the clocks went back the week before I was so pissed off
+Enjoyed your video. Best I have seen so far. Just wonder if you could tell me where you were standing when shooting this as it seems to be so much closer than the others I have seen. Going there in 2 weeks and want to get some good still shots and that location looks like where I want to shoot from.
