I remember seeing Miranda performing this song on a country show years ago. She was obviously a star but overshadowed by the likes of Carrie Underwood, etc. I knew she would eventually have her day...and did she ever. Sometimes Country takes awhile to catch up. Go Miranda

laughingcat and for Carrie Got her foot in the Door sing with People like Randy Travis. Got to the GRAND OLD OPTEY then went that lead straight to money. Don’t get me wrong she is very talented. But Miranda has managed to blend the both and like the People that don’t loose one off the Generations. Has stuck True To Herself And has both. That what really puts her in the Group that are Really Remember Willie Nelson, Dolly, Loretta Lynn. She is Her real Self. She will be remember by all. “GUNPOWDER AND LEAD” is great 👍 G👩🏻‍🦳G

My #1 FAVORITE song from Miranda. I relate so much to "New Strings". Great writing, great song, exceptionally done Miranda. Nashville Star or not, she would've been one of Country's biggest stars regardless. I save up my hard earned money just every year just for her shows. I'll travel wherever she is within 1800 miles. I get pit tickets whenever possible. And, we all know how expensive that gets. But, it's well worth it. Miranda is my idol.

You are absolutely right. Miranda Lamberts's records are mostly Rock, with a twang. Her only Country album to date is the sublime, 'Weight of These Wings'. I've bought all of her cd's. I like all of her songs. And I am a Rock junkie.
