Disney pleasantly surprised me by adding more skin colors to this species, the purple is starting to grow on me. Now I want to see a red or blue Mirialan
It's cool enough, though they did blow a hole in my accustomed easy answer when asked 'What colors do Twi'leks come in?' ...I'd just say 'Basically any color Humans don't.' :)
You don’t want them looking like other species, like the Zeltrons, Some of the more Human looking Sith Purebloods, and the female Devaronians (who’s sex are more human-looking for some reason).
Just as a heads-up for everyone, Established Titles is by now known to be a scam. There is no Scottish law that would make you a „lord, lady or laird“ for owning such a piece of land. Even their involvement with environment preserving companies is sketchy at best. They aren‘t even Scottish or European, they are based in China.
True. Scottish law merely has nothing preventing anyone from CALLING themselves such things. That's all there is to it. Even if owning land in Scotland automatically made you a Lord, the requirement for THAT is way, WAY bigger than a square foot. So sadly yes. I looked into it because I was tempted to buy them for my parents.
Love Mirialans. Luminara Unduli really got me interested into her species, and honestly their connection to the Force is surprising. I wish we could see more of Mirial culture in Star Wars. 😊🤔
Luminara is awesome. I was honestly disappointed when Rosario Dawson was cast as Ahsoka because she just doesn't have the personality to pull off someone like that, I feel like she would be perfect for Luminara and Ashley should have been given the chance to be Ahsoka in live action
Forgot one biological difference with the Mirialans, according to the visual dictionary for Attack of the Clones, apparently they have an organ in their heads which grants them a form of extra-sensory perception and must not become too dry.
Fascinating I never knew how interesting the Mirialans were so Interesting and had a natural connection to the force and an open Interest in Balance and the Cosmic Force I also didn't know they came in a wide variety of colors I thought Synara was a new type of alien like maybe a Keshiri or something but this is Interesting and would love to see more from their people more in the future
@@ursatzotschew7541 The Smuggler that broke the Mandalorian blockade, which nearly broke the Old Republic, was a Mirialan. Her name is Hylo Visz, and she is a non-Force User. Which is even more badass, imo. This was doing the events of SWTOR, years before your main character joins in on the history. Otherwise, they have a LOT of heroes of the Republic and Jedi. Just like the Twi`leks, Togrutas, Wookies, and Cathar. Underrated people.
@@90skidcultist ah yes, the universal sign of nonconformity is to get a face tattoo to not be like the sheep... how ironic lol there are plenty of cultures that have facial tattoos that have significance in said culture, however, most Western cultures facial tattoos don't have any sort of history with that and do it for the "edge" or "unique" factor, when in reality, it's about as unique as a lower back or wrist tattoo.
@@90skidcultist if anything, you seem to be the one "malding" over this, bud. The point was face tattoos are not rebellious in the context you presented, and calling anything Gigachad and sheep in the same paragraph just comes across as incel 😂 touch some grass
@@lockedongamingak "Ah, yes." Image Malding over something that causes no harm to others or negatively affect you in anyway. You just don`t like the look of it, and you can turn your head elsewhere. I was semi trolling, and you took the bait. You just don`t personally like it, for whatever reason. Good for you. Live and let live, right? Being eccentric isn`t "ironic" (you thought you were clever, didn`t you), but there are those that do it for the wrong reason. But THEY have to live with that. Not you. What are you!? Some Boomer or Gen-X conservative or even some old Liberal centrist? The first one would explain a lot. Thank God for the "Red wave", right!? "nonconformity"? So, in other words... being rebelliousness🤨??? Kinda proved my point, didn`t ya😐! America is the land of Rebellion, right!? And you`re against us "rebelliously" wearing our ink on our faces?? How unpatriotic of you🤬... "Significance🤡 "? Pompous, much? How do we know what is OF more significance or not? Or are you doing the whole," No, ME RIGHT YOU WRONG🦍", argument? Is some Polynesian or Mayan facial tattoo more important than mine, Betty`s, or David`s. It depends on the person, and it`s impossible to often say. For them, it could just be a normal thing that they just do. Not all tribes are the same, after all. For us "Westerners", it`s totally the opposite. "We" literally are taking a risk when doing so, because our culture is super boring (my opinion) and judgmental (not an opinion). Red Necks, Goths, Punks, Urban culture (arguably the most popular one in the west), etc., like to shake things up a bit. What you said was like me saying that I have to use the bathroom right now and you come along and say," I doubt that". Like, how the F do you know!? As if you can see inside my bladder. Closing the analogy, as if you can read my feelings or thoughts. It`s all subjective, like nearly everything else in our short lives. I choice to live on the edge, since there is no Heaven, and we get only one life. We`ll be forgotten forever one day. Deal with the tattoo or go where people don`t often get facial tattoos. Shouldn`t be hard. "However, most Western cultures facial tattoos don't have any sort of history with that and do it for the "edge" or "unique" factor, when in reality, it's about as unique as a lower back or wrist tattoo." That`s an opinion. And for you to foolishly standardize people like that, that`s wild my dude. But I do like actually looking edgy. OH, NO! YOU GOT ME! You should see me and my Gothic gf, you`d have a heart attack with the piercings, eye contacts, and tats we have/like to wear. We`re just waiting for the day where we can go full transhumanist. You see. Sometimes, the body you are born with is insufficient in expressing who you really are. So, you add more to it or even take some of it away. I treat my tattoos like how a Chad trans person treats their transition into their wanted sex or gender. I know many others that are the same, as I literally work with or serve these people. Oh, I`m a tattooist by the way. Part time, and good money. I do it mostly for fun and I enjoy making people happy.😌 Don`t you have more, actual important things, to b@x@h about? Someone`s PERSONAL appearance is their own business. Unless they have poor hygiene or something. Get with the times, this is the 2020s! You have the right to say whatever du3b@zz thing you want to say, as long as we aren`t discriminated against. Rethink your doctrine. Time for you to have your glow up, sir. Perhaps I can help?😏
Awesome video I really enjoyed it. 😊 It still amazes me how much effort and research you put into your videos. They sometimes don’t feel like lore videos but more like a history lesson.👨🏫
I'd argue that Yoda's species is strongest. Come on, 3 total of there people all strong in the force, 2 being high ranking masters and 1 being a baby, who already possesses force powers comparable to that of a knight.
Got into SW:TOR and made a Mirialan Trooper. I like the idea of a soldier at the nexus of their will, the will of the Cosmic Force, and the will of The Republic. I think thres some interesting narrative space where one person is reconciling all three.
I always felt like the Mirialan was under-rated species bc I barely see them getting used for anything. They always been my 2nd favorite species 1st being the Twi'leks but the Mirialans are a very close 2nd
I know that this is a 6 month old video at the time of me typing this, but surely you must've at least caught some wind of the controversy surrounding Established Titles. Many have found them to be disingenuous in the past. I'mma be honest, I haven't checked recently, but it wouldn't surprise me if not much has changed.
I dont think the tradition is Mirialans can only choose others of their own species as Padawans, but Mirialan Padawans can only be trained by a master of their own species. Like the case of Luminara and Barris.
This lore was cool. And makes me hate her all the more for setting up asokha. You've got a point to make?!, you're the padawan of a council member! Talk to her about it! Don't set up your bestest most only friend.
How would that work? Barriss' fate is unknwon but she was taken into Republic custody almost a year before the wars end, and while the Seventh Sisters origin is unknown that doesnt give many opportunities for the two to have met, especially seen as the Seventh Sister was one of the original batch of Inquisitors unveiled go Vader only a few weeks into the Empires reign. Given she generally seems to have been around Kanans age she definitely could've been a padawan, maybe even to Luminara, but there is no reasonable way for Barris and the Seventh Sister to have worked together without some sort of retcon, especially after the wars conclusion.
Please don't accept sponsorships from this company anymore. It's possibly illegal and definitely a scam, you don't want to advertise them to your viewers. Watch legal eagle's video on the topic.
HOLD UP! HOLD UP, Did you just do a casual face reveal and sponsor at the same time!..Brah! MetaNerd!! Buddy, warn me before doin this! I was not prepared that awesome but brief helmet reveal and face. Keep up the good work dog. :D Love yours and just about all of the other star wars content creators. Would love to see a collab with someone like Star Wars Explained one day.
Basically the older vids are hurting the channel, I was going to set them to private, but membership is how I can make them "private" to the RU-vid algorithm, but still let people who want to see them have access, and will put out other more casual vids and different content there.
I might be racist for saying this ( this is my greatest hot take ever) but the Mirialan species is the equivalent Muslims in the real world. The women are the radical revolutionaries and the men ( the jedi and any other higher power) are the more traditionalist than their opposite sex. And; towards the end of the republic era, you can see how the women are being infulenced the men.
You know that this lord title isn't real. So that's a little bit a scam, because you doesn't really own a plot of land. Also the trees get planted in Africa. Anyway it's a good video.
Hey you know your sponsor is a scam? Will you return the money to people who bought it because of you? Seriously, look it up. You helped scam people and should probably apologize for it.
Established Titles is probably the most dishonest sponsor you can get these days. There's no plots, you can't call yourself a lord, it's a Chinese company overpricing a gag gift. Save 80$ and make up your own certificate, they'll be equally valid.
But now we got to add non-binary characters in Star Wars but they got to explain why is that case? Was there a suppression in sexuality or trans rights problems going on in Star Wars that we don't know about that today they would like to add to it?
I bet there was during the pius dea cult ruling the republic. But also nonbinary peoples existence isn't based strictly out of discrimination. Just as me being gay isn't based out of people's homophobic tendencies
@@daganlove8536 on the contrary actually the reason why the term gay Plus what I mention is because of homophobia. If we never saw a problem with it it would have never been acknowledged because it would just be a way of life and not an issue. There wouldn't be no gay pride parades there would be no celebrations of anything because it was never fought for.
@@Jesse12489 I'm talking about queer people existing. Not a parade. Just because our society ostracized queer folk for the past 2000 years doesn't mean every culture that didn't would have to be blind to someone being gay lol (yes I understand the word comes from terms based in hatred and bigotry but it's really the only word I have so get over it lol) Just because it's not viewed as a sin or weird doesn't mean it's not "different" or special A good analogy would be some people like ham sandwiches and some like turkey. But that doesn't automatically mean turkey lovers and ham lovers have to hate eachother and go to war over it. Different strokes for different folks.
@@daganlove8536 history shows that people who were interested in the same gender was never thought or thought nothing of it because that was the times. I'm talking about in before Christian era and even after but places like Japan that never questioned it until Christianity came over. And what's wrong with not paying attention or view it as special when it's an everyday thing that makes no sense because it's in everything. We never do celebrate some of the stuff we have every day unless we fought for it. Like in the United States we celebrate Memorial Day or Labor Day because it was fought for. Right now we are in a world of gender politics where yes people will use gender as a way of attacking or getting what they want or status. Yes status is actually the key word right. The reason why they put it in Star Wars is because of promotional reasons. Human rights is no longer a thing it is now an item for people to use to promote and use it to get up in the world. So when comic books start putting a bunch of trans or the BBC is making a gay Doctor Who it's not because they do it because it's right, it's because they are doing it to get themselves up in the world. Gay queer trans are nothing but tools to be used by the media just so they can get more status. So when they put in Star Wars you got a question yourself, what happened in that world to get them to that situation. Because that's just blind ignorance if you just accept the world as it is. Because if the world accepted people who love the same gender as them the term gay would never have been used. Gay used to mean happy or joy, queer used to means strange or weird. Those words would have stayed where they belong and they would never been used homophobia which also is another word to describe afraid of humans. Somewhere down the history a lot of words got mixed up. But I doubt if we misgender somebody in Star Wars I highly doubt they will act like a Karen or somebody who would call me something that cannot exist in the Star Wars universe. So yeah they can't call me a trump supporter or some derogatory term that people like to call people who did not believe the same thing as they do. Back in the day they call that Heretics but that's more of a religious term.
0:45 - They can't actually make you a lord. LegalEagle did a great video going through the legalities of Established Titles. Short version; it's a scam basically.
Another fantastic breakdown. The Mirialans are truly fascinating. Their view of the Force is interesting in how its championing of free will runs parallel with the Sith in all save their culture seeks communion with it rather than domination. Do you think you will do a breakdown video on the Kel Dorans?
I admit, this species always fascinated me mostly for their face tattoos and their dressing style - Luminara and Barriss just stood out from other Jedi with their elaborate robes and quiet mystique. Barriss is one of those favourite characters I know nothing about but want to learn more about just because of their look, and this video only increased that.
I’m curious on what is consider rare skin tones for the Mirialan? Shades of green and yellow are the common one, but is purple considered rare? I read that they can also be blue in tone, guessing that’s rare on the level of red skinned twi’lek?
