Geoff starts the 1922 50hp single cylinder Mirrlees engine, the engine was originally at John Moores Liverpool University.
It suffered a small end bolt failure in May 1998 that damaged the liner, con rod and piston, the engine was then given to the Anson Engine Museum where it was put into store.
When we built the Cris Bowden building the engine was installed and rebuilt with replacement parts the Anson held.
The engine is started. On compressed air and once turning diesel oil is injected until it fires hence the change in exhaust colour.
