@@somerandomguy7458 this is Lake Placid, NY - Mirror Lake, not California. It is an amazing little town where 2 winter Olympics were held and home to an Olympic training center. Recommend anyone visit this beautiful area. It really is special.

Yep. January 1st is winter. December 31st is winter. The year starts and ends in winter.
