Mirror's Edge: Great Concept, Terrible Story

I can't stand the lighting in mirrors edge it's either extremely light or dark and i always need to adjust the settings ot see anything.

Mirrors edge soft locked me with no ammo , but the story was just getting in the way of running. Saw the twist a mile away.

My first play through of mirrors edge I decided realistically Faith would be kill happy. I spent the entire game none lethally. I'm stuck on the last level

Mirror's Edge 1's problem was that the story sections were basically glorified loading screens, only caring about getting you to the next level. But Mirror's Edge Catalyst is even worse because its solution was to add MORE story, not write a better one. So now you have the same crappy characters (and an even dumber plot) but now they interrupt gameplay all the fucking time. And at least Faith in ME1 isn't an insufferable crybaby like in Catalyst.

If the story isn't supposed to be cared about then why did they put it in the game?
