I had a graft and implant botched by a periodontist. My sinuses were seriously infected and she couldn’t get anything to heal right after three surgeries. She referred my to an oral maxillo surgeon who totally saved me. He said oral maxillo surgeons are the only ones truly qualified to do these type of complex implant surgeries since they can fix all the complications and know how to prevent them. I wish I had done my homework first.

@Lovethisguy-kf1ku I want to get my bone graft remove because of not healing well. I do not want an implant after reasearching it. So i go to oral surgeon or periodontist ? Oral surgeon are not specialize in preserving gums. I am worried during removal, more gums are going to be removed.

I would go to an oral surgeon. They also have medical degrees and are used to fixing all the mess ups dentistsI also know that periodontists are just dentists and not real doctor surgeons. If I had a choice I would see an oral maxillo surgeon instead of a periodontist for grafting and implants.

I have a dentist that does fixed bridges but he doesn't do All-on-4, he does 6 on top and 5 on bottom. I don't know if there is a name for that but it's a zirconia monolithic fixed bridge milled from a puck. 6 seems a little excessive and a pain to floss all those gaps. Also keeps saying Prettau zirconia, is there a difference or is it just branding.

Nice video. Dr. Choi, I think you should be more assertive with your suggestions. I think you were trying to be polite by entertaining their discussion on snap-in, when obviously in your mind you were sure that permanent would be the best option. The result is that the patient isn't sure which option to choose, then at the very end you introduce new information. Ie. Should have brought up Zygomatic earlier on in the discussion. So, you have the ability to give them a fantastic improvement over their current snap-in, but i don't think you sold the solution hard enough. Nor coveyed that the patient's current problems are a result of a fundamentally flawed/ limited product. I wonder if the patient will go ahead. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents. As mentioned, thanks for the video. :)

No, if a professional tries to tell me which choice I want, I never select that person. They must present it as choice and then provide plus/minus info. My displeasure here is that he did more talking to the spouse than the patient.
