@@natyshy482 she brought fire to that stage! danced with her heart and soul and not for a title, you could see that, with that she won the crowd and everyone watching all around the world, she will be remembered as the best dancer ever to dance on that stage.
I remember watching this on TV live with my baby girl beside me. Natasha and her Kumu defy the effects of time and space while they ring still before the eyes of me and my 25 year old daughter
She is amazing! Could you help per the mo'o - I'm assuming that she was portraying a particular mo'o, but since I don't understand much Hawaiian, I couldn't pick up on the mele itself...
Also... I have rarely seen a dancer who is as expressive, fluid, elegant, and beautiful to watch in *any* kind of dance. (Ballet, modern, jazz, etc.) I keep coming back to this video. She's marvelous!
This was a spiritual experience not just for the dancer, but all involved: the chanters and audience could feel it. She was not dancing for a title. She danced from her HEART. It’s clearly evident is this Kahiko. Imagine MAH 2000 was Tehani Gonzado, her successor, so that means she needs to be BETTER. The bar is raised, and did Ms. Natasha Oda delivered ❤️❤️❤️ And not to forget the Auana portion - look how graceful she is?! She can be strong & masculine in Kahiko, then change it up to be soft & feminine doing Auana. What a perfect blend!
You also have her 'auana, bless you! Her kahiko is everywhere (and it deserves to be) but I've been dying to see the 'auana and guess what, Ms Oda didn't disappoint. ❤
Oh I love to watch this video of Natasha ... when I was younger.. I had the same passion for my dancing . I am native American..she reminds me so much of my life and traditions..love you Natasha Oda.. from Nm usa
