Well, I'll be seeing this on December 1. If I had seen this video beforehand, I may not have bought the tickets. Oy! I can only hope it is not just a brainless pile of silliness that has not a lick of Jane Austen's bright wit and sharp sarcasm. Over the weekend I watched the Anniversary Edition of BBC's A&E Production of "Pride and Prejudice" and fell in love all over again with the wonderful story and characters. Glad to see this play's Mary Bennet is pretty, for in the book all of the Bennet daughters were described as such, while Mary Bennet has always, sadly, been cast as a rather homely lump. But if this play is just tedious romping around the stage by actors that bear ZERO character resemblance to the originals, I will be sorely disappointed. Here's hoping this video is a misrepresentation and that the play will actually be entertaining and well-acted, not pathetic.
