Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears - Behind The Scenes 

Cancelling the series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries was one of the dumbest mistakes made by Australian television - the show was successful and popular and yet cancelled. I read at the time they wanted to make room for other programs - there had to be another reason, they couldn’t have been that stupid.

The series should never have been cancelled. Looking forward to the movie very much. The wardrobe of the 1920’s is to die for, just gorgeous!!!

They need to bring this series back. I can't watch the new one. The original is the one I love. I can't wait for the movie.

Essie brings the character of Miss Fisher to life...with all the wit and emotion, physical presence and conviction that many of today's actors don't have..I was so very very excited when I heard of the movie and can't wait to watch it..Well done all on bring Miss Fisher back!!

Essie Davis is a great actress, albeit a bit underrated. She should have more films so the the whole world can appreciate her beauty and talent! Kudos, Ms. Davis!

I am a Canadian who enjoys Australian programs. The cancellation of Miss Fisher was sad. Just as I discover these great shows, they disappear.

Wish the series would continue.......

I can hardly believe I will be watching this film in just two days. Phryne has meant so much to me since the moment I first encountered her. I couldn't be more excited.

It certainly had fans in the USA-me being one of them.

I find it fascinating that the show managed to be so sexy while barely showing any skin.

I I may inject a male voce here, I'd like to go on record as saying I enjoyed the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries immensely. I watched every episode on Netflix - twice. I do hope the feature film becomes available in Canada, I would dearly love to see "the team" back in action.

Im happy about this movie! I have missed the series, wishing that it had continued, rather than being "replaced" by a similar one with new actors. Essie Davis is perfect for this character, whether she is 30 or 60. I hope there will be more movies!! Thank you!

I was annoyed they cancelled this series. Now when it is aired on PBS I record it to watch at my favorite time. I put in my vote to bring this show back. I enjoyed watching Ms Davis in her brief role in Game of Thrones. It reminded me how much I missed her. Just loved her character/s on both shows.

Spread the word peeps in social media. The more seeing this movie, the more likely will there be another movie.

I can't wait to see Miss Fisher on the big screen at my local cinema- about a week after I first saw the trailer, I was at a charity store & saw a '20's-looking hat- I totally bought it, thinking 'I'm so wearing this when I go see the movie!'

This series and its protagonist reach so many audiences of people and garners a charm that I hope can be allowed to persist somehow in the future. Essie Davis was and is the only woman alive who could ever captivate the quintessence of Phryne Fisher, and she did so with the most inspiring aplomb. One can only dream that it will come back to the screens, whether in the shape of another cinematic release or a continuation as the marvelous show it proved to be.

It's absurd cancel a tv program like Miss Fisher. The show is original, well done, well acted and directed and the costumes just fantastic. I'm italian and I like the show very much...I miss it. 😢

Saw it last night-loved it. Was a little disappointed they didn't have a scene showing all the Oz peeps finding out Phryne was still alive. I kept thinking of poor Dot while they were gallivanting all over the place

Very excited for the new addition to Miss Fisher saga! Especially in a feature form! I can't however believe that the producers, in such a costume driven show, mention in this interview only the input of the DOP, production design, the locations, and special effects, but forget to mention the spectacular COSTUME TEAM WORK, which is an absolute highlight of the show, a magnet for many of the fans, and indeed - a focal point of any period film! Shame on you, ladies! Let's give credit where it's due!

I simply LOVE Ms Fisher and her Detective - what a scintillating duo. I'm devastated that there are no more episodes. Have watched the Series over and over again, such a pity that no more episodes were made. Look forward to the film.

One of the reasons I subscribed to Acorn TV, was to be able to watch Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It isn't often that you get actors who portray their character parts that well, and who REALLY add to the story line. Miss Fisher, Dr. Mac, Hugh, Dot, Jack, Mr. Butler, Bert and Cec acted together so well, it was like they were magically put together by the casting director. Some shows the actors are so awkward with each other that it looked like the CD just pulled names from a hat. Then there are some shows where the main character part was too predominant. In Miss Fisher, you know Phryne is the main character, but you also know that she NEEDS the other characters to fulfill her and round out her character. All together a great show!! BRING IT BACK, YOU DOLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love everything about Phryne. Books were brilliant, Series was superb, film was great. The chemistry between ALL the actors was wonderful. Please, please can we have more? Feature films or tv series, Miss Fisher is fantastic

Saw it here in the Netherlands on Netflix. What a wonderful, refreshing and bedazzling series with good effects, plots and a great sense of humor. The chemistry between the characters... Excellenct actors. I can go on and on. One of the best series to ever feature TV. A shame it ended.
