I honestly really dig this album. I think it's pretty obvious that they're not going back to the old MMI sound and it's not going to please everyone, as you can tell on all the comments on other videos. At Heart wasn't my absolute favorite because it was such a big stray away from Monument and AAFTW, but im really coming around to it because now im not expecting an older album sound, and I enjoy this stuff. It's pretty clear to me that they wanted to go for a more metal sound with solos and and more live vocals, but still keep the Miss May I vibe in their for the fans that don't give a shit about change. I'm proud of these guys for changing it up so much for THEM. Stay metal!

I see alot of hate for this album in comments. But here's my thoughts. Obviously Apologies + Monument were their best albums. Rise isn't a bad album. It just doesn't compare to the first two albums. But guess what guys? Bands fuckin change. People grow up and get tired of the same style of music they make. So morale of the story. This album isn't bad, if it was made by some other band that nobody knew I would say "Yea not bad" but it's definitely not the album us old MMI fans were hoping for. But all in all I think MMI has gotten waaaay too much hate for making NEW music

I'm about to go mainstream on you guys. I'm a MMI fan and have been for a while, but before I give this album my official opinion, I'm going to listen to it a few times through first. And another note. The reason all these metalcore bands are changing sound is to try something new. Have you ever bought a T-shirt that everyone hates and you wear it anyways? This is kind of like that. Okay, one more note. A7X is my fav band and I think it may be true that these bands are trying too much to be like them and make every album sound completely different from each other.

I'm really loving the album, but for constructive criticism, Ryan needs to write faster choruses. He always sings so slow and methodical and they somewhat end up blurring together, I feel like I could copy and paste any Miss May I chorus melodies into any other song and they wouldn't feel out of place. I would really like to see him branch out. I think this is his best singing on an album yet and I'm really proud of his growth, but I do think he needs to switch it up, yaknow?

After listening to damn near this whole album. It reminds me of Atreyu. hahaha Which is not what I was expecting from this band... Which this band started out to as a metalcore, progressive band... This is just one of those bands that just tried to make a genre switch and failed doing soo. Well at least from my stand point they failed. Same with Of mice and men.. These big name bands are turning way to fucking generic and are loosing key characteristic's that got people to follow them in the first place.. What a shame...

We could blame the record label like everyone else or pin it on the members just loosing there spark and trying something new. which I pick the second option. haha honestly put this song against the song "Tides" which was on there first ep and was moved to there first album! they're like different people.

***** Like Kyle said we have our own personal preferences :) when you follow members for example, Valentino Arteaga(Drummer of OM&M) if you follow him all the way back to him being the drummer of low definition and just listen to his style and shear badass and compare it to now. you'd be like wtf happened!? haha I still admire OM&M i just consider this newest album a slip up in my opinion. Moving on.

Once I actually start enjoying a song on this album, Ryan starts singing and it goes to shit. It sounds tooo boring and too similar. I dont feel the passion like I used to before. . Just an opinion. Chill

Gia Chichelo thats cool an all, trying to stick up for these guys but if you truly cared about how hard you have worked on producing an album, should deserve some feedback. No album is perfect and there will be people to criticize regardless. If being in an band, trying to make a living is your lifestyle, its best to get feedback or else your are not growing as an artist.

fast song with great guitars then that awful clean singing chorus that sounds completely autotuned...wow just completely ruins it, I just don't understand, then back to awesomeness haha loving the guitars on this song

my opinion of this whole album is that Levi is not nearly as good as he used to be but he is still solid. and that the riffs are more creative than anything i've heard from this band before. vocal melodies are lame too

congratulations this band is in a genre and they are very "generic" for the genre. Look up the definition of generic before you start pointing out the obviously that every band it generic to the specific genus (genre or group if you dont understand that)

The music on this album is fantastic. Easily their best so far. But man, the production sucks major balls. Seriously. There's a difference between a more gridy and hardcore sound, and downright bad production sound.

If had to sum up the album in one word it would be.. boring. 1. Levi said he "tried" different vocal techniques yet his voice sounds the same in every song, theirs no variation in his voice... 2. Almost every song in this album has the same song structure(verse, chorus, verse, chorus/outro).. 3. The lyrics are very corny.. 4. Of course to state the obvious, Ryan's singing is horrible once again.. 5. The solos are mediocre.. 6. The drums are nothing to be impressed with(boring).. In conclusion, Miss May I has become one of the biggest over-rated bands iv heard of.. and this is coming from a guy that knows over 20 mmi songs on guitar, don't mean to bash just constructive criticism(I used to be a fan).

Honestly, this sound is like 10x more metal compared to their last albums and I love it! But then the singing comes in and almost totally fucks up every song :/ just sounds terrible!
