I am not Indian, but I definitely think Lara Dutta and Sushmita Sen are the most intelligent Miss Universes to date. Their answers to their questions are deep and full of substance. Not fluffy "world-peace-esque" type answers that all sound the same.
@@jopromise4191 Catriona is stunning. But her answer is very pagenty (and a bit cheesy). Don't get me wrong, I love Catriona. She truly set the bar high for a miss U candidate. BUT there is depth in wisdom in Sushmita's and Lara's anwers and they deserve a league of their own. And it's something that not much succeeding Miss Universe winners have.

I understand your opinion but my point is any questions are a piece of cake to her. It’s just that these legends got the oppurtunity to answer these relevant n impactful questions.

Lara is a quintessential queen. Beautiful face, curvaceous body, undeniable stage presence, elegant and a tone of voice to make your heart melt. I am always blown away by her. She is the Oxford definition of a Miss Universe.
Catriona gray appeared totally prepared and confident But i think why lara was so remarkable is because it appeared she is her natural self and hasnt gone through peagent grooming. Her calmness and confidence made it appear that her life didnt revolve around this peagent. It appeared so genuine and real

Also, if you see the content of the answers, Sush has got more logic in hers. Lara's answers are good but not very close to reality. She's giving answers that sound good. Sush's answers come straight from the heart. Lara's answers come from her mind. She knows how to handle the mic and what to say to conquer the challange. Sushmita, however, answers whatever is genuine to her regardless what impresses whom. She gave real answers as if she's not competeing for Miss Universe. However, Lara's got great calmness & confidence. I love Lara's accent.
Put Lara in any of the years Miss Universe pageants, she would certainly win first rate... Just saw some of her interviews and she is unbelievable.. First rate sharp, sensible and intelligent...
I can't get enough of this. 20 years later I still feel nobody can beat India's Lara Dutta. The way she speaks, her intelligence, her elegance..and that final high score..nobody can beat it. 20 years and counting..that score remains unbeaten..

Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta and Manpreet Brar are the three most intelligent Miss Universe contestants from India. If not top 3 of all time. I love when Manpreet was asked in MU 1995 "If you find yourself in a situation where you were being discriminated against because of race, what would you do?" Manpreet uttered words of brilliance, "There is a saying that goes, 'If your back is bent only then will somebody climb on it,' so stand up straight and nobody will ever climb on your back, that's all." Needless to say about the other two former winners. They are just brilliant
Yes, Manpreet was robbed of the crown! may be the organization was reluctant to crown two Indians MU back to back. Manpreet was the rightful winner, but they had to declare USA the winner. Manpreet was smarter than Sush, but luck wasn't on her side that day! (i am saying this because all her answers were elegant and she carried herself perfectly, while Sush gave great answers too, but she stammered a couple of times, which again did not deter her from winning).
Manpreet's answers were fabulous. If it was not 1995, she would have won it. Back to back crown especially to India is not digestible for all. If her physical beauty is little more higher, that would be a definite crown MU1995 (

Important things are she is from a Air Force background and naturally the kids are grown in a very positive environment and they develop a very good communication skill . In the Air Force schools they indulge every student to choose their extra curricular activities like sports music and dance . Second thing she is very graceful calm and composed is because of her bharathnatyam . So put together she is the best universe till date
Sush was great but Lara exceeded here in every department! What a sharp and b'ful MU! And those answers that she gave and the way she carried here eve gown was totally outstanding and no other MU can even come close! Loved here interview and she certainly can handle pressure. Sad that her potential was not recognized in B'wood.

I am an Indian & I am disappointed with Miss India. She never deserved to represent India at MU. She looks good but she's dumb & shallow, constantly trying to "act" & turn herself into some Diva which she's not. She was told the very same thing by Lara in India during her preparations but she didn't pay heed. India is busy bootlicking western culture & feel ashamed on their own culture, Hinduism now. So, they're sending nonsense contestants without substance or integrity.

Apart from all the scoring and topping on intelligence..I think she is probably the only contestant from India who has ever topped the Swim wear contest ..which is indeed a very big feat.

Gabriel Ribeiro Yeah, and when I defended Miss India then they racially abused me and thereby showing how cheap they can be. Actually, after interaction with fillipinos and people from other asian countries, I have realised that fillipinos are very pro western people. They take pride in being with western people (including you as well) . They are so blinded by pageants and think this is some sort of great achievement. Well, I as an Indian think any achievement of India would be anything related to the benefit of common man like eradicating poverty just like brazil is a role model for India to be honest. We Indians take pride for doing great in science and space programmes despite of having limited resources.But fillipinos need to get their priorities right.

The minimum wage for very poor people inIndia is only 2 USD, so see how much better brazil really is. Every developing country faces same problems such a corruption. Her answer to the last question was perfect! For me, Brook Lee, Lara Dutta, Janine Tugonon, and Pia Wurtzbach had the best answers for the final question in Miss Universe.
