@@theherogothamneeds1014 apparently they think they’re in an episode of Dora where all you have to do to get a boat/plane/train/bus to turn around for you is wave your arms and jump up and down and shout ESPERAAAA
Just be sure you get to the airport in plenty of time for your flight. Leave your house at least 4 to 5 hours before your flight in case of heavy traffic f*** ups, weather conditions, finding someplace to park, check in, TSA routine, just to be sure you get to your gate in plenty of time. Procrastinating can only get you screwed.
They just yelled "Please open" 354 times. If they knew the airport passenger rules, they knew that they're supposed to repeat it 400 times so that the pilot will go "OK, now I can pick you up". So close. Be a lesson to you all: next time, read the airport passenger rules.
they might have let it slide if they tapped on the airport window a few more times. it's obvious the pilot heard the tapping from the plane but they just didn't do it enough really...
If an American comes across someone who does not speak English they talk slower, as if it makes a difference. If a foreigner in America does not speak English they talk louder, as if it makes a difference.
Annette Melnychuk Sweetheart, this is a ***public forum***. Posting in a public forum means your comments are fair game for anyone to address. Sad that this has to be explained to you. As for your friends, who cares? Go shove your PC bullshit.
I worked for Delta and Continental airlines as a ramp agent. People don't understand that getting on an airplane isnt like getting on a bus. The pilot has to figure out and calculate all the weight on the plane so that there is an equal balance. You can't just add someone last freaking second because then the pilot has to fix all of that which takes time.
+Josh Hemphill Exactly. I'm a gate agent. Pilots don't even have a say on who gets on at the last minute, anyway. They only have control once the plane is in the air. People just think they can get on whenever, even down to the very minute of departure.
I have to wonder if those 2 people have ever flown on a plane before. They don't know the rules of making your flight which is to be at the gate at a minimum of 30minutes prior to departure. I think that the only time that a plane will be held is if the airline staff know where you are and they know that you're going to head directly to the gate(late connecting flight). The gate agent probably paged these 2 passengers several times and when they didn't show up they probably gave away the seats to people who were on standby.
Their accent is Indian and they think they are entitled. They throw their weight around in India because of their caste system. But it does not work that way in the real world.
The MOST kind explanation I can think of is that they’re from a foreign country and have never been to an airport before and have no clue how flights work. But I don’t know XD
Why don't they conduct themselves in a way rational-minded, well-adjusted, truly motivated people would? Smash through the window, jump down and race wildly on the tarmac, flailing the arms in the air, towards the plane.
Sometime people need an airplane to get on time to the airport. Huge traffic and an accident on a highway made me wait for 2 hours without moving an inch.
raj s oh I see. I was thinking it was an Indian airport. But you are right. there isn’t trash strewn about and people bathing in filthy contaminated rivers. So it couldn’t be an Indian airport. Nice point out.
The glass is tinted and the tarmac aircraft noise is significant. Plus the ground crew wears ear protection. The passengers were whistling into the wind.
All the carrier will say is that they are required by policy and law to keep to their filed schedule since many things can be screwed up even by a 5 minute delay watching late people board. Worst case situation is that the controllers handling the long range transit lanes would have a late plane on their hands and if it is a flight using territory that is not covered by radar it may cause long delays for other flights.
1. They can not hear you no matter how much you bang on the window and yell "Cheese oven, Cheese oven!". 2. Even if they could hear you they don't give a fuck, once the door has closed if you're not on that aircraft you've missed your flight.
I worked for SWA. Some idiot couldn't be arsed to use the jetway. He came running out a door used only by airline staff and ran onto the tarmac towards the plane. Big mistake. One of the provo guys, big lad, tackled him, held him for the cops. Missed his flight, tsk.
Pilot 1: Hey George, They're wishing us a good trip *points to the crazy people waving their hands* Pilot 2: You sure they're wishing us luck? Looks like they're our passengers. Pilot 1: Yeah I'm sure. Let's say hi. *Both waves hands and starts the engines*
Typical sources of stress of foreign passengers: - Poor English - Different (or no) concept of time. - Different non-verbal communication (yelling and going emotional only works outside the US or EU)
Mr. Pivotgamer I Really? So, it's racist to assume hispanics eat hispanic food or that asians eat asian food? Even well meaning people all over the world say americans eat burgers and pizza. Is that racist?
Guy Piper Indians don't eat curry that often really, and it is actually racist to assume that they have curry all the time and forgot their "daily supply in the plane"
The carrier and the FAA will both back up an on time flight crew. It is not their responsibility to handle anyone who is later than 15 minutes ahead of the published lock time.
Steve Thompson It’s not their misery that people are mocking. Lots of people miss flights and everyone feels bad for them. It’s their ridiculous response and actions that people are mocking. Not saying it’s nice to mock, but no one is mocking their pain!
What people do not know is that once that cabin door closes, the pay of the crew starts....if they reopen the door it stops their pay, and the airline will go into delay....$2,000 a minute......yeah
They are clearly south asian, Indian or Bangladeshi. I know bcoz of the English accent, I'm from that region. Also, some people near the camera were speaking Bengali...
No amount of banging on the window or yelling "PLEASE OPEN!!" will get their attention. The noise coming from the plane drowns out any noise that these two are making. Everyone knows (mostly everyone) that once boarding of the aircraft is completed, the plane is committed to departing at its scheduled time. In short, these people are SOL.
The patience of the other passengers! I can't believe someone didn't tell them to stop. I see that someone finally got up to tell them that their efforts were futile
Anti-collision beacons (flashing red lights) are on. Once they turn on, this means the engines are being started. So basically, they won't shut the plane down (as there will be too many checklists) just to let more passengers on. And to anyone saying it's rude of the pilots, they are performing many checklists, so they won't be concentrating on the terminal.
Regardless of why a person misses a flight it is pretty damn selfish to expect the airline to hold up the flight. Do these screaming idiots have any clue that airlines run a tight schedule and that many passengers are on a tight schedule themselves? Not only would the plane be late to it's destination city but passengers that have connecting flights might miss those flights because their plane was held up for two idiots in the departure city. Not to mention the logistical problems it would cause for the airlines themselves. I always make a point to get to the airport at least two hours before my flight. Gives me time to get checked in, check any luggage I have, and get through the TSA checkpoints. It's all about planning ahead people. Flying is a privilege it is not a right. Do your damn homework and plan ahead. Sure sometimes stuff goes wrong that is not in your control but if you plan ahead things will generally go a lot smoother.
I have had to run to the plane which was waiting for me because the transport I used, the driver said he would take a 'shortcut'. Other people did miss their flights because of him. I also had the problem of this woman who got really angry with me and the staff member because I wanted to go through check in first and she had an hour before her plane took off, she got so mad when I got through first.
