Riley’s brother here- the story is pretty spot on. When walking around out there, we were astonished to even find his gun. We found the exact spot where he was kneeling and walking around as the prints were still in the mud. That day will always be imprinted on my mind.
I lost my good friend to an accident in a different country nearly 20 years ago. I still think of her and I am still sad about it. You will always remember. I hope your wrecked feeling will be more easy to bear as time goes on.
@nmc8931it does sound incredibly suspect to me. Hard to believe he was not at least the primary suspect in her disappearance. Story reeks to high heaven of foul play
This guys is messed up all the time, he’s an addict. Not saying that’s an excuse but it’s possible. He was interviewed multiple times, they even looked through his phone. They found no evidence of wrong doing so there is nothing more we can do. I don’t believe this is all true but alas I am powerless. I appreciate your concern.
and the police dropping the case doesn't mean much, most likely they don't want to spend time, effort and (our tax) money in trying to find her... THREE whole days before contacting police... nope, sorry, that alone to me is criminal!

The first case regarding Renee who traveled with someone who is somewhat clueless - not reporting her missing for 3 days - her dogs were probably distraught when she wasn't with them when he stopped and just let them out. He doesn't seem like a good choice for a traveling companion.

Dave I live in key west fla for 50 yrs I'm 66 I wrote in before and I been following u for yrs I try to be nice to people all the time this island used to be always about that but like everything it has grown and more people have come down to live here . I go out of my way to say hi or I like ur outfit or ur hair is pretty etc but I'll tell u most ties people r so surprised and happy but a lot of times now some people look at me crazy or don't reply back hi and it crushes me to think a place like this island has become so hardened like most other places I spent time at when I was younger it saddens me but I continue to do it!!!??

Dear Dave, your second commentary regarding Todd and his son and how long a leash to give a young adult is spot on. I grew up in a hunting family. My Dad was hands on when it came to supervising a youngster, particularly boys. I worked in our family business from the age of 12. Progressing as a teenager who was maturing, he would give me more responsibilities or allow me to experience a few adventures on my own. When I was 15, before I could drive, he would take me out 6 or 7 miles from the house with my dog so I could quail hunt the way back. That was great fun and a learning experience necessary to the development of a young male. I loved bird hunting and training dogs with my dad and granddad, however, I also loved to venture out, just the dog and me. That alone time clears the mind and puts things back into perspective. Still hunting alone at 70, but now I do it on a club. Much safer! Kindest regards.
On my second veiwing of this video. I always catch more info I may have missed the second watching. I've noticed that some younger people are more flaky now. I'm 68 so, that's my excuse for being forgetful but, even I would have been on the phone immediately calling for the police. Hello Mr. Paulides. First I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate what you’re doing. Honest journalism is an extremely important function and it’s a lot easier for hard work. Thank you. Second, as I was listening to all of the missing stories around national parks, it made me think of something I hadn’t thought about in many years. I’m 52. When I was a teenager, my family would take trips to national parks, usually once a year in the summer. There were several times during these trips, a couple of times in particular, that I felt a bizarre sensation that I haven’t felt before or since. It’s hard to articulate, but what it felt like was that every fiber in my being was telling me to run… run far away, it didn’t matter where, just run and run and run. It wasn’t necessarily a feeling of danger per se or that you was being watched, mostly just an illusion overwhelming sense that I needed to exit the area. I don’t recall where exactly I was, but I want to say maybe yellow stone and or different places in Colorado. The only thing that saved me from running away was that I knew I’d get lost and perhaps never be found, and the “sane” part of my brain told me it probably wasn’t a good idea. It was so difficult to overcome though, and obviously I never forgot the feeling…. Just extremely extremely weird. I was wondering if any others have ever reported anything similar to you. Btw, I’m not in Mensa or anything, but was in gifted programs in school and iq around 130 140 or so, have blue eyes and blonde hair, and am of Slovak and German descent. I grew up in the 60s and 70s in a little village called Rowayton part of Norwalk Connecticut right on Long Island sound.. all my friends had boats I had been driving my dad's boat since 11 years old went for the young skippers course at the power squadron so I could operate a boat by myself. At age 6 I used to lay the chart down.. and study it for all the local waters of Long Island sound.. I knew every Rock and reef by heart... So there I was at 11 years old with a friend or cousin aboard driving my dad's boat on Long Island sound!.. fishing in clamming... No cell phone back then no two-way radio back then..(later on around 1975 we installed a CB radio).. I wouldn't let my 11-year-old on the sound by himself but back then it was a lot of freedom and trust

Great stories. So sad about the young man disappearing. When I was about his age my folks let me take our little Jon boat sll over some lakes on my own and a few years later at 15 moved to Savannah, Ga, taking a bigger boat by myself out into the coastal tidal marshes, sounds and to remote barrier islands only accessible by boat or aircraft. I did fine. I doubt if many parents would do that now.
I have been reading your newest book on Washington. I live in Port Angeles, so this is extra fascinating as I have been to most of the places mentioned on the west side of the state, but I also lived in eastern Washington, in Spokane and down on the Palouse. So much amazing information I can't seem to put it down!! Love the map, also! Thanks for all you do!
My daughters have had accidents when I have been nowhere near them. How unbearable to be close by and lose them forever. My youngest was trapped under a canoe on a school outing. She has never talked to me about it in any detail. My oldest daughter does a lot of driving in her high powered job. She took my youngest with her on a notoriously dangerous road that she had to travel. It was school holidays. A French tourist on the wrong side of the road crashed into them. Police said her company car saved her as it was a very expensive well built model. They had minor injuries. I hurt for you Dave as I went. through years of hell to have my children and lost babies on the way.
Sheriff thought she was in the river because statistically it would have been the spouse. PS. Not saying it was the spouse. I hope Renea is found safe. Thank you Dave for sharing these cases.✌🏻
I do believe the male companion took her life and hid her body. Too suspicious and coincidental. Also, her dog he did something to the dog too. Not all police are smart Dave. And some offenders are in fact good liars and narcissistic and can manipulate people well.
I had to go thru a lot of comments to see this one and you nail it. Just insane, *waited THREE DAYS and it made sense to the cops* ?? 😆 Oh-Kay then!! Now, the male companion did not necessarily kill her; it's the *waiting 3 days* part. And they entrust him to take the car back, and he "loses" a dog too? Ever hear of a leash? Traumatized dogs, their owner is GONE, and you don't leash them? *GUILTY and/or MORON* ... probly both ...

David, I live in Wisconsin near a state park. Yesterday morning, Thursday March 7th, I took my teddy bear dog for a walk at Harrington state park. I was surprised to find that my dog and I had the entire park to ourselves. There's always people there, so to see it completely empty, even the rangers station was closed, was a first for me. Anyways, as my dog and I were taking our walk around quarry lake, and enjoying the solitude in nature, in one section we both heard a clicking sound. It sounded exactly like when one is riding a 10 speed bike, cruising along without pedaling. You know that noise those bikes make as they're moving? My dog stopped and turned his head, but I kept walking and pulled him along with his leash because I needed to get home. The sound went on for about 10 seconds then was gone. We didn't feel alarmed nor freighted so we just kept moving and completed our walk, back to our vehicle.
Just catching up on videos missed. I ordered Missing 411 Eastern US and also Idaho today. Going hiking in ID in early July. Thanks to you I know how to be safer. ONE OF MY 4th graders’ family hunts and camps at Brant Lake in NYS. My sis lives nearby and remembers when that patriarch went missing - mentioned in your earlier film as well. I’m fascinated by all the research and have been a villager for close to 10 years. Thank you for all you do, Dave.
Really enjoy your work Dave. Has not deterred me from my solo adventures but I do look at my surroundings a bit different. My favorite go to places are in a cluster zone on the East side of the cascades in WA. I also have the hobby of going to places where there have been Sasquatch reports of all kinds. I have had couple of experiences that I am fairly positive were Sasquatch but no visuals. I have your hat and pin plus your new book which I could not put down until I finished it. Just a thought, but I have heard Dave say more than once, that he has never had a case that matches his criteria, of a person that was carrying both a locator beacon and a gun. Might make you feel and be safer out there, if you don't already do that anyway.

Another great missing 411 segment David two missing people and a missing dog tragic! It was unusual for someone to wait 3 days to report their significant other missing, but if the police cleared him then they must have good reason to not consider him a suspect. It's strange that the dogs didn't accompany her when she left especially Bean. So what happened during those 3 days? When heading back home the boyfriend stopped to let the dogs have a bathroom break and they just ran off from there master?! I'm assuming he tried to chase them down? What's really strange is that Bean being a little dog got away from him . What caused the dogs to run off in the first place? Did they sense something? Was Bean heading for his lost companion master?! Searchers found 1 dog but not Bean? I wonder where the searchers found the other dog at ? In correlation to the search. Bean being a Chihuahua you'd think he would not have gotten very far. I would guess there's also the chance that's something ate him. Tell me Dave what was the breed of the other dog? May God bless her and her poor dog. if they're not found I hope they find peace together on the other side. It seems strange that's a point of separation on a river when you're all in boats? How did he get that far ahead? Why couldn't they catch up? Why didn't he stop his boat and wait on them? I wonder what the cell phone conversation was like? What was said? I myself heading canoeing with companions there were another canoes when one of us got too far ahead we pull over to the bank and wait on the others. I wonder why this didn't happen in this situation it is very tragic to lose a child especially under these circumstances my prayers go out to the family. So where exactly do you think these two individuals went? Is it the UFO connection? Or did their bodies just get swept away by the water? In the first case the girls companion waiting three days is suspect in itself...think there's more to that story...
It always strikes me that when searches are called off so soon, perhaps it is because the authorities know what probably happened, and they know they will never find the person.
Dear Dave...another great video. What you said about giving your young adult kids a certain amount of freedom...even though my daughter is 21, she has the mentality of a 16 year old. I gave her too much leeway because I trusted her. She snuck out at night with her boyfriend...now she's 6 months pregnant and refuses to talk to me. The guilt and sadness I feel is immense. I can't imagine losing my child like Ben. In some ways, I feel like I've lost her. Anyway, sorry for the sob story. I just wanted you to know. I feel as if you are a friend. God bless you and yours.
I will check out the Nexus magazine @ Barnes and Noble. I used to buy Omni back in the past, but they discontinued the magazine. Maybe Renee had to go to the bathroom, and got out of the car quietly, then go to the bathroom and took a hike. Maybe a mountain lion killed her, and dragged her body up into a tree. Riley's case is very strange. The gun was found in the island. The cell phone was in the boat. Maybe he got out of the boat to go to the bathroom,and find a good spot, and got ambushed by a bear, and never got a chance to fire his gun. Very sad case. Could also be a UFO also.

Interesting story. I think Renee had a plan to depart when arriving at camp 17. Riley met with someone who had ill intent. Feral person, alpha predator who knows. There are portals and other anomalies that remove people without a trace. I am saddened by both losses and wish it wasn't so.
Hi Dave & Exec Producer Huck. 🙋🏻 America has so many different agencies and they're not all joined up. It's so convoluted & compartmentalised compared to countries in my region. And yes, I agree, it's hard to vet all these people "coming out" as an authority on the UFO/UAP subject, so much so that there's only a small handful that I actually follow because I know they're solid & have good information or are critical thinkers. The rest is just white noise. I try to keep it simple; if the government have been tying themselves in knots for the last 75/80 years, downplaying, giving half-truths mixed with misinformation, heavily redacting FOIA requests etc, we know they've been lying. The truth is whatever the government claim to be the opposite. Love from Scotland. 🥃 🏴
Someone should contact the 'ranch' and encourage them to release the name of her 'coworker'. Another interesting thing would be to delve into what prompted her to make the decision to leave Wisconsin. I suspect she was likely encouraged to do that by 'a third party' under the guise or notion that it was time for a change. Investigate how long the male companion was employed at the ranch prior to her arrival.
