I've never seen this one, can't wait to now! G-Men/Lawman films of the 1930's were an interesting counterpart to the Gangster films. Walter Huston played one fantastically in The Beast Of The City (1932), and James Cagney gave a great against-type performance at the time in G Men (1935). Thanks, PizzaFlix!

💖 ~ azo ~ Yes!!! Luvvv this stuff! Never saw this one B4, either. GOTTA see it again - THAT good!!! Luv the intricacies of the writing. Kinda remember "G-Men" cuz of that factor. Pretty sure I've seen EVERYthing Cagney ever did ... just kinda fuzzy memory-wise cuz went thru a Cagney-phase a few years ago - lol *majorly binged* = I've noticed i don't have a whole lotta retention when bingeing cuz they all just kinda morph together into a big pot of Cagney soup (or whoever/whatever) - for MY brain, anyway. Methinkz Prof azo doesn't have that problem. :) Thx! ~ 💖

💖 ~ 😎😎😎😎😎 21:42 ☆ Luvvv this newspaper reporter's 5-star INTEGRITY. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rather than expose his confidant's identity to the Grand Jury, he humbly chose a $250 fine (& got a 30-day jail work sentence thrown in as a surprise by the judge). That fine would be around $5,377 today in 2023.👍 ~ 💖

The slap was symbolic. A lot of fathers were screwing their daughters back in the day. And probably beating their wives. They left looking for love and got tangled up with the Pimp that knew how to "play" them and "use them." Still happens. Nothing changes.

💖 ~ I was sooo blessed to be Daddy's girl - he was a perfect Norweigian gentleman (NOT a hugger - lol) who doted on me & teased me a lot to make me laff. My only complaint: he worked too much. He never once hit me ... but mom told me he decked a guy (only time ever!) who was 25 years younger than him as a warning to protect my honor, after the jerk said - within Daddy's hearing - that he'd like to get me in bed. My hero! THAT'S how a man behaves. THAT'S how fathers should regard their daughters. He went to Heaven when i was 19 ... miss him. He quietly taught me to expect men to be gentlemanly toward me & treat me like a lady. ~ 💖
