That’s not generally true tho and there is a good reason why the right to remain silent exists without the possibility to be legally interpreted as a sign of guilt. @@BellaBlayne I‘m not talking about this case (which my comment makes clear I think). All I‘m saying is that GENERALLY SPEAKING the right to remain silent is very important and invoking it isn’t necessarily a sign of guilt. That doesn’t mean that everybody who pleads the 5th is innocent either. I‘m just saying there is a good reason why it’s not legal to interpret silence as guilt/ having something to hide. The only times I can think of that you can/ should talk to police without an attorney is in an emergency or if you have specific information to give regarding a case that you want to report. As soon as police starts asking questions about you tho, it’s advised to say nothing until you‘ve gotten legal counsel. It’s sad but unfortunately we can’t trust police not to frame people.

So let me get this right. Marsha went into depression after her parents suddenly died a month apart, yet we are to believe she left the house they built her. She supposedly also left her dogs behind. She left her family and friends too, supposedly. No way do I believe that. As a person who lost both parents unexpectedly, I went into a depression too. I worked through the pain with the help of my pets, family, and friends. I cherish anything that belonged to my parents. I don't think this woman willingly left her life.

Especially without her dogs! My son has a dog I call my grand dog. I love her so much, and she means the world to him. He would never, even ever leave her. And can we talk about how she left without her car, her clothes, her toothbrush? And her phone!? None of it makes sense at all. Her parents had the house built for her. She'd never want to leave it behind. If she wanted a new start somewhere else, she would have divorced him and sold the house, taken her jewelry from her parents, her phone, photos, and her dogs. She would have said goodbye to her friends, and contacted her relatives to tell them what was going on, and that she was divorcing her money draining husband. His business ate up so much of her money. They could have had an argument about it, and he could have killed her. Or, maybe she found out that he was cheating on her. Who knows? But the fact remains that she just disappeared without anything important to her, and he didn't tell anyone or report her missing.

I have bipolar disorder and right now I'm going through one of many major depressive episodes. The one thing bringing me comfort? My dogs. They are cuddled up with me while I watch this. *I would never leave my dogs behind* if I were leaving my home for some reason. Not unless I planned to die, and then I would have to know they were going to be taken care of. I have two dachshunds. I have other animals too, but it just really hit me when they said Marsha had a dachshund. They are incredibly sweet dogs. As an introvert and something of a loner who also provided care for my mother before she did, there was a lot about this case that just struck close to home. Check up on your friends and family who have some kind of depression or are introverts. We may be resistant to spending a lot of time socializing but we still need to know we are valued. This case is heartbreaking, but the DA didn't have a case. I hope they find Marsha.

Agreed. Getting my cat saved my life. I got him as a kitten. He was an orphaned kitten. I was suicidal and couldn't bear the thought of leaving a kitten to starve as my body rotted with no one to find it. So he gave me a reason to live. Now, any time I feel down, he is my reason to get out of bed and keep going. I would never, ever leave him. And I don't think someone who was so dedicated to animal welfare - such that she volunteered to care for shelter dogs - would ever leave their animals behind. One thing which was missing from this story is what Donnie was doing before he zeroed in on and milked Marsha for all she was worth, then disposed of her literally and figuratively. I also find it extremely suspect that Marsha's parents died suddenly and so close together just after Donnie comes into the picture. Why would it be so much of a reach to think that Donnie killed Marsha's parents, and then Marsha all in order to get a hold of their money and property? With that said, if I were the DA in this community I would have been exhuming Marsha's parents' bodies and doing careful autopsies, as well as doing extensive background searches on both Donnie and his extremely creepy, smug daughter to see if any other suspicious deaths and or missing persons were associated with them over the years. Seriously, Donnie swoops in and soon after Marsha's parents end up dead with only a month between their deaths, and then Marsha turns up missing with not a single shred of evidence. It truly defies any randomness. Then Donnie handles law enforcement's interrogations like a pro, (like a seasoned veteran) as if he has had plenty of prior experience in this exact type of situation. The same could be said for his Elvira daughter, whose composure while being questioned on national TV looks like a walk in the park---also as if she has been in similar situations in her past. It's as if Donnie and his daughter watched the 1990 movie "Pacific Heights" and decided to mimic the plot in real life, i.e. researching and finding rich people to victimize. When I see cases like this one they seem all too well orchestrated to not have some sort of black ops funding behind them, and then some (like immunity from prosecution).

Actually it has been known when people were trying to help and were accused. There was once a missing person episode when she left for work and never came to work or home. The husband went to police, first they said she had to be missing for 48 hours, then when he came again they started grilling him as if he killed her. And all that time she was stuck in her car - she was driving and her car went off the bridge somehow and got stuck in trees and she was badly injured. And nobody was looking up of course. So one week she was there , she almost died and she would have died because instead of searching for her police was grilling the husband. I do not remember how was the woman found, but she was in a very critical condition for a long time. So no wonder attorney instructed the client not to say anything

My theory is she was very depressed and needed a lot of care and support and her Husband didn’t want to care for her. But he wanted her money but wanted her out of his life. Unless she threaten to no longer finance his business and he killed her then. There’s no mention of excessive blood found, or luminal testing. The only thing they got on him is pawning her stuff, suspicious receipts for items to get rid of a body. The blow torch worried me the most. He could of used it to try to cremate her or have no identifying evidence on her. The cops would of needed to use cell records to track where he had gone during the times she is thought to have died. I’m sure he traveled far. He had months. Anything unusual like distance traveled or routes he used only after she was killed and then he goes back to his normal routine

R.A. Mizer My thoughts exactly. There’s no “crime scene”, we don’t know where it occurred. The fact that poor Marsha has not been found is the key, and we don’t even know a homicide occurred yet. It sounds like they were going forward with a bench trial, and a judge must go on evidence to convict him. There absolutely was not enough evidence in this case, not even for a jury conviction. There may have been enough for an indictment, but that’s as far as I think it’s ever going to go until Marsha is found, dead or otherwise. Edit to add: Daughter is off, imo… she’s kind of creepy. But I don’t think I can say that she did something to assist her dad in whatever crime may have occurred. But I do think she knows something, and is perhaps protecting and defending her father. We may never know. 🫤

I think it’s quite possible that prosecutors didn’t give the potential jury members the benefit of the doubt enough to believe they would see such clear evidence and come back with a guilty verdict at the end of the day!! If innocent people are being locked up and even plenty that were killed from a death sentence how could that possibly be when they were in fact innocent? They told the truth and were punished for it, seems like just as good reason a to not answer questions to me if you can’t even be confident the truth would prevail. Having suffered with major depression for a very long time and having it be exacerbated the last few years by a cheating husband and impending divorce, I find this story so troubling. If Marsha was going to commit suicide, why would she take the 100k cash? Marsha adored her animals like they were her children. If she wanted to leave her husband, there is no way that she would have them with the person who was troubling her, i.e., her husband. Marsha leaving the house that was given to her by her dear, deceased parents is unbelievable.
