In today's video we will be discussing the Constitution of India and the Preamble of Indian Constitution in a detailed manner. The first part of the video will focus on the need for a Constitution and the historical background of our Constitution. The second part of the video will focus on the Making of Indian Constitution till Jan 24th 1950, which was the last session of the Constituent Assembly of India. 26 November 1949: 'Constitution of India' passed and adopted by the assembly. 24 January 1950: Last meeting of the Constituent Assembly. 'Constitution of India' (with 395 articles, 8 schedules, 22 parts) was signed and accepted by all. The last part of the video will discuss the importance of the Preamble of the Constitution of India.

While India remained a dominion till 1950, Pakistan retained the status till 1956. In simpler words, dominions were autonomous communities within the British Empire which were “equal in status” but had an “allegiance to the Crown”. What it meant was that King George VI continued to reign as the Emperor of India and Lord Mountbatten was the first Governor-General of the country. Nehru was sworn in as the premier, but served on the command of the British Governor-General, and unelected Indian nationalist leaders were administered oaths in the name of the British King-Emperor. What it also meant was that a British field marshall led the Indian army and judges appointed by the British continued to be part of the high courts and the federal court.

13:43 the administrative power (along with trade) of EEIC was reduced only to trade and administration of territory went to the hands of crown. The EEIC was finally abolished not in 1858 itself but only in 1873-74. From 1874 - direct imperial rule started

Rule (administration power) only abolished in 1858 but company continued its trade function till 1874. After that it was abolished completely.

Dogri is a language spoken in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and is one of the 22 official languages recognized by the Indian Constitution. Dogri was recognized as a national language of India in the Indian constitution on 22 December 2003. The Dogri version of the Constitution will help people who speak this language understand the fundamental rights and duties of citizens, the functioning of the government, and the role of various institutions in the country. The release of the Dogri version of the Constitution is a step towards fulfilling the constitutional mandate of promoting linguistic diversity in India.
