Mission Hill vs the Network 

I feel like I should clarify something. I have literally zero opinion on the Beevis and Butthead reboot. I haven’t seen it. The footage included here was the choice of the editor. Maybe that’s his opinion? I don’t know. I can’t have one as I haven’t seen it (and very likely won’t).

Fun fact: WB cares so incredibly little about this property that Oakley and Weinstein have been able to do unauthorized showings of this series at various pubs across the country. (I actually attended one of these just a few weeks ago)

This show is such a classic. So creative, unique and utterly ahead of it’s time.

What a great way to begin Part 1 of Vs. The Network 2023. It’s too bad similarly to Baby Blues that it did not get to air all of the episodes until Adult Swim presented Re-runs of the show.

Mission Hill is the only show I got when I was kid, but as I got older and found it online, love it + hate what the network/creator did to it. Also we got to thank adult swim for making people aware of it.

Surprisingly, Mission Hill actually surpassed the ratings of other network shows after its relaunch! Right now, Bill Oakly is trying to get the show/reboot on streaming! ( Sadly like the TV execs in the 90s, Streaming execs are just as bad with making a choice on moving forward...) I think I've seen A few episodes of 'Mission Hill'. Not sure if it was on The WB, or Adult Swim, but I have seen it. I also know that Scott Menville voiced Kevin. It's A shame that some people in the animation industry never have the guts to stand up to these short sighted execs who think they know how to run things better than the creators. Though, it also works the other way around when the creator is wrong, and the execs might be in the right. (Cough*John*Krisfalusi*Cough) Also, some creators need to learn not to give the networks complete control of the show because they'll revive A show without the creator somewhere down the line. (Cough*Powerpuff*Girls*Cough)

I KNEW I recognized that character in the thumbnail! I never really watched the show but something about the animation sticks out to me and made the characters recognizable to me

The WB was always put together by duct tape. So many good shows that went the way of the dodo. I mean who changes the night of the week your show is supposed to be ,on almost every week, and wonder why the ratings suck

3:37 "Minority" Demographic lol you can say black 😂. I haven't seen mission hill in ages but it was probably the first thing I ever saw the first time I ever saw [as] in the summer of '02. That or Home Movies (another transplant from a network with a black leaning demographic 😂) I ended up rewatching it constantly (cause they re ran it a lot)and Scott Melville will always be the cat from this and ofc Teen Titans Robin. They hit right around the same time.

I didn't know about this show until I was 15 when I first saw it on Adult Swim in 2006

So I heard bill Oakley pitched mission hill gus and Wally spinoff to paramount ,Netflix , both turned down

So I went to rewatch this show on RU-vid since I didn't remember a ton besides maybe Plan 9, the show is pretty good. I think its way better now that I'm not a kid anymore lol. I watched it on Adult Swim and those were weird days with this show and The Oblongs, I liked the shows but also didn't like the style too much either. Still not a huge fan of the dog, but the style doesn't look too bad now. Can't say it needs a revival tho, I think the show is serviceable but nothing I'm too crazy about either.

Huh. Never seen the show before

Its a shame the WB & even the UPN had cartoons but didn't seem in place on what the network was suppose to be, I was a fan of Home Movies years later but I didn't know it was at UPN somewhere at some point. I knew the WB had cartoons but it was meant to bring in a kids audience & I do know it aired shows like this, Baby Blues & man they too seem out of place on the lineup

A Reboot might be good for Mission Hill. It at least deserves a second chance.

I'll be honest, I didn't like Mission Hill. I thought the art style was ugly, to many of the characters voices were irritating to listen to, and I found it mostly uninteresting to watch.

Underrated show but my God this show looks hideous.
