I bought the mxr today. Never shot a bow before. One inch clusters at twenty years. My buddy who's been shooting his whole life was amazed....I was thrilled with this bow, even with my limited perspective.
I just got back into the bowhunting last year after 8 years away and I had the ferocity. It is a great bow period. It had 90% letoff and it felt like you could hold it back for days. It did everything I needed it to do and was plenty fast at 70 lbs. I shot a 140 lb doe that was quartering to me and go a full pass through double lung shot.
MXR is what I’m leaning more toward. I’m a new bow hunter. I’ve hunt with crossbows but never a compound. The way ammo prices are rising I think bows are getting pretty popular.
I haven't had a chance to shoot the Blaze, so I can't really compare it to the MXR. If you are happy with the Blaze, I say keep shooting it. But if you have the itch to try something new, I don't think the MXR would disappoint.
Every time you show your draw, it looks like you're trying to chew on the string. Not slagging on you, Lucas, but it does looks funny. About as funny as me rubbing my face on my string at full draw to make sure I'm not gong to rip out a tuft of facial hair when I break my shot. In true "rate my form" style, I give it 11.3/10, with the bonus marks going to artistic impression! :D

I don't see what you are talking about. Shit, everyone does some little routine when doing something like this. Look at baseball players when at bay or on the mound. There are a thousand different ways to adjust your balls before taking a cut. I rub my nose on the string sometimes because my mustache hairs push up on my nose at full draw and my nose itches. The bottom line is putting rounds or arrows down range and on target. And we are learning, they may not be a cup of beans worth of difference from a flagship bow and a $400.00 bow. In this archery/bow hunting sport, it seems, at least on RU-vid and the forums' comments, many folks are always chasing the latest, greatest, newest whizbang bow or gadget. The golf industry is very similar, only Golfers do not buy a new set of clubs every other year, but their are a lot of other mdse they will buy to improve their golf scores, especially true for the serious, but mediocre golfer. On these forums, I read comments from guys that have bought a bow a year. Some, more than a bow a year, and they state it like a badge of honor. To me, it sounds like they don't have it, never will and think a new bow will solve their problems. Man, it's not the bow. It's concentrating on the front sight tip and sqqqqquuuueeeezzzzing the release. Just like I learned and taught my recruits and Marines on the range. Sight alignment and sight picture and to squeeze and not jerk the trigger and not anticipate the round firing. The same principles apply to compound bow archery. Also, putting the right dope into your sight.
