Join me as I land the largest lander I've ever built on the surface of Eve. In this mission I land a Kerbal on the surface, retrieve a surface sample, plant a flag, grab a bunch of science, and get it all back safe and sound to Kerbin
Great one man !... I'm also dedicating a lot of time into achieving this mission but using a different approach... leaving the back-home rockets orbiting Eve and getting down only with what I need to get back in Eve's orbit.... dock with the back-home rocket... and coming back.... It's taking me a lot of time to acchieve this mission... let me know if you have any tips or pointers or warnings for me.... and congrats on yours
I spent an absurd amount of time trying to get this mission done. As you can see in the video, I didn't have enough fuel to get home so my lander, in essence, was just enough to get back into eve's orbit. Biggest pointer: use aerospike rocket engines. They are the lowest profile engines and they give your lander legs enough room to compress under Eve's crazy gravity without crushing the engines.
