How funny, just realised I’m commenting on this story on the 58th anniversary of its sole transmission (9th October). Of course the story's existence at this point is to complete the gap in the schedules caused when episodes 3 and 4 of Planet of Giants were edited together. contractually the regular team weren’t included cos they might have held out for an extra tanner or thru pence in their salary and Verity only had this one episode left to produce. Of course no one viewing at the time knew this was a prologue so it has to be seen in its own light. The only problem is that we sort of get an early repeat five episodes later as the TARDIS crew catch up with the audience. And to be honest I’d have no problem watching the UCLAN version instead of the recon even with their endearing candy floss Vaaga plants.
This one was pretty good. The Recreation was really well done and just shows how endruing these episodes of the show are 60 years on. Making me want to go watch Dalek's Master Plan again 😅. Also what do you think about the Underwear Menace being animated?
I'd have loved if Doctor Who had done a whole season without the Doctor. Just the Daleks, Cybermen, Zygons etc having their own adventures where their plans work out 🤯🥳🤗
@@josephchambers2000 it would be a more entertaining spin off than things like Torchwood tbh. A short 6 episode run. 2 episodes per monster and no over arching story thread/line
It was nice for Doctor Who to try something different but I don’t think this was needed to understand Daleks Master Plan and I also found this kinda boring, the episode, not your review.
