FILM DESCRIPTION:
When a group of civil rights workers goes missing in a small Mississippi town, FBI agents Alan Ward (Willem Dafoe) and Rupert Anderson (Gene Hackman) are sent in to investigate. Local authorities refuse to cooperate with them, and the African American community is afraid to, precipitating a clash between the two agents over strategy. As the situation becomes more volatile, the direct approach is abandoned in favor of more aggressive, hard-line tactics.

When I first saw this film I remember thinking "Gene Hackman is an absolute monster of an actor". Such a riveting combination of power and subtlety. I don’t think there’s been a better actor than Gene Hackman on the screen. He’s in some very elite company.

This whole movie is a Hackman masterclass. And given that its subject matter is real, it’s gives it that chilling edge.

@WalkthroughArchivegreetings, yes, the sad fact remains as indeed with life itself, that not all those deserving rise to the very top (some don't want to). In fact the opposite is the reality. In this world, it's who you know not necessarily what you know. Most people don't know of Brad, but for those who appreciate great acting - he is there. The "wringing of the cat's neck" scene in the same movie one look from Brad (as in life itself) sorta tells a whole story in and of itself. Great, great acting and thus cinema of course and it takes nothing away from Hackman rather it adds to his abilities and that's how you make great movies. The thing is Gene had and has the "name" Brad didn't and doesn't, except for those who say, "that is some piece of acting! Who is that guy?"

2020: Did you smile when Rayshard Brooks turned towards the pursuing officer and fired the stolen taser at the officer? Did you smile when you thought INCAPACITATED OFFICER CAN'T PROTECT HIS SIDEARM? Did you smile when you thought Rayshard Brooks could have taken the incapacitated officers sidearm and shot at the other officer? Did you smile at the thought that a taser fired by Rayshard Brooks could have that could have led to the death of both officers that night? Did you smile when you thought HE SHOULD HAVE COMPLIED AND LIVED? Blue Lives Matter.

@TwelvesInchesAround ThinkAboutIt Then he shouldn't have resisted arrest, stolen a taser and fired it at an officer. Brooks caused his own death.
