MISSISSIPPI POLICE OFFICER SENTENCED TO 1-YR IN FEDERAL PRISON (06/12/24)

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - The Pearl Police officer who was fired for bullying an arrestee into licking his own urine has received a maximum sentence of 12 months in prison.
On March 14, Michael Christian Green, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of acting under color of law to deprive a person of his civil rights.
Wednesday, Green was sentenced to serve one year in prison. The sentence starts on July 26.
Green received a $1,500 fine. The max possible was $100,000.
The former officer will be required to take a mental health program in anger management and will have one year of supervision once he is released.
He is not likely to appeal.

He should have gotten 12 months an additional 12 months for the virility of what he did and another 12 months for even thinking about being coming a cop

Nah, He's gonna be protected. He'll be in protective custody AND the guards and warden will give him special treatment. Plus, watch him, he'll be out in 2 .5 months

Several crimes were committed, for him to have gotten the lowest sentence and fine... He has probably committed more crimes as a LEO and never got caught or held responsible, while working for JPD...

54 days per year for good conduct credit can be awarded in Federal prison for early release... He committed a crime and needs to do the time... He's no longer a LEO and is disqualified for life, when he is released from prison...

Dumber people are hired as regular patrolmen. Most of the time the police have nothing to do, so they think more intelligent people will grow bored and quit or if dirty come up with scams to pull.

Why should someone with such a light sentence be placed in Protective Custody... Why would Law Enforcement go through the trouble of protecting him from criminals like himself... He's no longer a LEO and never again will be, when released from prison...

For some reason he urinated on the floor. I'd wager the person arrested asked to go to the bathroom and was denied. When he could no longer hold it he peed himself and was punished.
