Breezy Poiised recently its been inconsistent and lyric-less trash with a nice beat. Hip hop had meaning when Tupac, dmx were doing it. Now....let’s be honest...there are some great hip hop artists out here but the overwhelming majority of it being introduced to the general population is just about dumb stuff. You got young thug talking bout skinny jeans and fucking, Future talking bout his drug addiction and not in a healthy way, Megan shaking her ass...that’s what’s being shown in Times Square on those big screens. The music now is different which is understandable. It changes with the times but right now it’s just inconsistent. Sometimes I crave meaningful lyrics and I’m only 19🤣

@@deirdreryan3932 Statistically she can. Numbers wise she can. She was a huge part of bringing rap and hip hop into mainstream radio and streaming. Just because she wasn't one of the originators doesn't mean she didn't do anything for female rappers today. Give her some credit.

Nicki had a huge part in making rap and hip hop more mainstream and paved the way for so many rappers today, just like Kim and Missy and everybody else paved the way for Nicki. She is one of the most successful rappers of our time, don't discount that. Just because she wasn't an "original 90s rapper" doesn't mean she doesn't deserve recognition
