Came here around 2AM in Mongolia, having just listened to the Axis of Awesome 4 Chord Song for the 1,000,000th time. I had no idea that Scar was an original song until tonight (every time I've seen the 4 Chords video in the past it lacked a key to the included songs). I genuinely thought the closing tune was a creation of those blokes. Sorry, Missy Higgins. You made something beautiful; something I've loved for a decade without knowing you made it. Consider me a new and enduring fan.
Axis four cord shit is worst ever not one song sounds the same at all. Only 10 chords you can play anyway so 4 are gonna be close. They're retards Missy Higgins is a global superstar there's a difference
What a throwback - this song has aged so well. I can't think of many Aussie artists brave enough to sing with the accent but she did it brilliantly here. Loved this tune as a kid, only now paying attention to the lyrics and they are awfully relatable.
Honestly i never realised she sung with an accent when i used to listen to the song and its so true about the lyrics. I used to sing it on singstar hahaha i think we still have a ps2 with the dvds
I fucking hated Missy Higgins back when I was 10, but nowadays I find myself enjoying this song. Funny how time changes your opinion on music, isn't it?
well this was a major number 1 hit in australia in 2004...it should climb higher with the 10 year anniversary. either way, she deserves way more views in general.
I Love the hidden message I'm my opinion it's that she won't stop trying to say her message of being yourself and just nonchalantly fixing the piano mid line. Like I'm not gonna let this get in my way and just calmly fix it
+pompom45 I remember going into a budget clothing store looking for a new shirt and pair of shoes and heard Missy Higgins their PA system and nearly dropped my shit.
This song was playing on the radio so much back then it pissed me off ... recent years I got a massive respect for her. I think once u get okay with pleasant music, it grows on you ... btw Higgins is my age & she's kinda cute. Or more than :P
Love this song. It's fun and positive, but it has more of an edge and honesty than most personal positivity songs you hear like Firework, Scars to Your Beautiful, and Perfect.
I remember when I was 9 years old me my mum brother and sister where on the run from my farther due to domestic violence I'm 24 now my mum died on the 10th of July 2015 I'm 24 now it was 3 months before my 18th I was just a boy but now that I'm a man and a farther of my own I can't imagine the pain she went through, just give us a safe environment even if that meant having nothing but a roof ...arhhhg I love that women and always will she could speak 10 different languages draw sketch anything pull money out of no where when it's needed it's only now that I realised I had a superwoman as my mother and I regret not knowing it before. Rip Monika viola Marshall !!!! ❤️🥺♥️ Godspeed mum xo
i came because the axis of awesome but this girl its friggin gorgeous im in love hahaha with that said i listen to prog metal so... i dont know what the hell im going to do about my life now.
In memory of my ex-girlfriend, who I'd still with absolute certainty marry one day once things work out for both of our lifes... despite our mutually caused scars. Just right now all we find is our imperfections and hurt. Oh well... ♥
I only just realised now but I just got back from camp and this was the song that was playing on the way back on the bus along with all my classmates loud voices!
I actually came here from all the other amazing songs Missy has written, but I watched the Axis of Awesome vid and have to admit it's funny! But still though, Missy's songs are focused on the lyrics, so I don't really care about the chords. It has a great meaning, as I interpret it, about bisexuality. The greatest song I've ever heard written about it:) But damn, all those songs with the same four chords, lol.
20 years ago back in 2004 Great times back in 2004 I remember hearing this back in the day 20 years ago It would have suit it in Project Gotham Racing 2
My axis of awesome list :- Alphaville - Forever Young The last goodnight - Pictures of you Men at work - land down under A Ha - Take on me Pink - You and your hand 30h!3 - Dont trust me Missy Higgins - Scar
@CrispyTumor I think they were actually referring to the australian comedy group "axis of awesome", just like most of the other comments. I was saying that if they wanted to say that they did it better than Missy did, that there are other better ways to go. Like one that makes sense in a way that their comment did not.
