Carolyn Enger pairs Missy Mazzoli's “Orizzonte” with video from environmental acitivst and photographer J Henry Fair to create a soundscape focusing on the scars we have left our planet.
Missy Mazzoli wrote “Orizzonte” (horizons) for her band, Hills Not Skyscrapers. She premiered the piece in Amsterdam on a piano that had been left in the rain for a year. The work and the photography of J Henry Fair closely align to present an experience inviting introspection about humanity’s place on the planet and hopefully inspiring action to protect our beautiful, fragile world.
